Starfire Golf Club - The King Course
Played On 02/27/2024Good Basic Golf Course
Played here because it was close to condo and course wasn’t very busy. Course was in good shape and kind of winds through homes. Not a hard or difficult course. Dollar wise probably not worth the $175 price tag compared to others that are $230. However, if you haven’t played for awhile, a good course for a warm up. They also have a another nine hole course if you want to practice.
Kiahuna Golf Club
Played On 05/10/2023Good Alternative
Played here on a Wed as a single. Got paired with two other golfers and had a great day. Course is resortish, but interesting. Liked the back better than the front. Course and greens were in good shape, other than two of them that had been plugged and sanded. A good alternative to other more expensive ones in the area. Now the bad, driving range was closed, no snack bar and the Paco’s Tacos onsite also closed. Apparently Wed was local morning. Anyway, Still had a good time here and would play again.
TPC Scottsdale - The Champions Course
Played On 02/16/2023A Change From TPC
It’s TPC’s little brother. Very much resortish, but with the lesser price tag of TPC. Layout and course conditions were fine. Staff was friendly and informative. I would play here again and enjoyed the experience.

Valley View is the best course in Northern Utah, if you value a public course that’s demanding and we’ll kept. I’ve played golf here for the last 25 years and have a single digit handicap. The course is always in good condition and has a variety of tees. Biggest complaint I’d have is if you are not an adequate golfer, don’t come here. The golf course is long and tough. The greens afford it another level of protection. Since it’s a public course I see too many people that are beginners and shouldn’t be trying to start here. The course has a great practice area. Again best in the area unless you go to Oakridge Country Club and the professional staff is top notch. As a public course you sometimes get others behind the desk (prior complaint). Bottom line is if you want to play a great course, this is it. And yes, if you go into the restroom it still has the Jack Nicklas wallpaper from 20 years ago. Bathrooms are 20 years behind from a remodel, it makes me laugh every time. However, I don’t go for the guy at the front desk or the bathroom. And if you can’t play 18 holes in 4-4 1/2 hours, don’t repair your ball marks and aren’t nice, please don’t visit. There are enough of those types at other public courses.
Verrado Golf Club - Founders Course
Played On 04/03/2017Nice Course
Course was very interesting and challenging. Greens had a little ball mark damage. Rate was off GolfNow and was very reasonable for what you get. A good course, I play it again. There are others you can play that are better, I. E. Quintero or Copper Canyon. Also, GPS directions from Google Maps is wrong, so maybe call pro shop for directions.
Copper Canyon Golf Club - Vista/Lake Course
Played On 04/02/2017Great Course in Excellent Condition
This course was in great condition. Fairways looked like carpet and greens fantastic shape. Played with two locals and had a great day. Course is somewhat resortish but still interesting enough and requires different shots. I'd definitely play this course again.
Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia
Played On 04/08/2016New and Upcoming
Course is relatively new and trying to build client base. I really liked the course. For instance, on short par fours, lots of bunkers or alternet fairways. The country club I could play every day. Multiple sets of tees, I played from the whites at 6,500 yards. Two tee boxes behind this, so quite challenging. I'm a six handicapper, so when I say it good from the whites, it should mean something. So go play this track, it's a nice course.
Quintero Golf Club
Played On 10/18/2014Best Course in Phoenix
Did you ever see Field of Dreams with Kevin Costner, build it and they will come? This is the golf course equivalent! It's 30 mins out of town on the road to no where. There's barely anything built around it. The course is one of the best maintained, I've ever played. One reason was they were doing over seeding so it was cart path only. It had memorable holes, elevation, water, and multiple tee set ups, so you can pick a good distance. The driving range was open and inviting. There was just so much attention to detail; cart paths colored and with curbing, green rock at pull-outs and bunkers outlined in Bermuda. I just can't say enough about the course. It was typical desert target golf, there was something of everything. Now the bad, if there was any was that no real facilities. Pro shop and dining facilities were very small. Plus strange six min cart ride from pro shop up to course. I actually thought this was kind of a plus, it made it like you were playing Shadow Creek. Any reason is that everything needs to be developed. So just for comparison my favorite course in Scottsdale / Phoenix is Grayhawk Raptor. I liked this course better. The only reason it wouldn't be my overall best is location and facilities. I played the Boulders two days prior for $200, and Quintero for $100. Twice as good for half the cost. It actually reminds me of a new Redlands Mesa before it was developed. So my advice, is that if you are concerned about golf this is a must play.
Thank you for coming out to enjoy a round of golf at Quintero. When will you be back? The golf course is in fabulous shape.
White Hawk Golf Club
Played On 06/24/2014More People Should Play This Course
I played this course with my two sons, so three of us and green fees were $54 (they had a two for one). Anyway, I really liked this course. I thought the layout was challenging and interesting. Every blade of grass isn't manicured, but that kind of fits with the course feel. Greens were in good shape and staff were more than accomodating. This is the kind of course I could play on a weekly basis. One son and I are single shot handicapers. So I'd say I've give this a high recommend and you don't have to spend a lot of $. A great deal, in my opinion.
Eagle Mountain Golf Club
Played On 04/01/2014Great Golf Course
I've been coming down to Scottsdale for Spring Break for the the last five years and been playing different golf courses. This was the first time I played Eagle Mountain. I have to say it's now one of my favorities. The course was in excellent condition. It was challenging, but fair and had some memorable holes. I liked this course as much as Troon. I would highly recommend to the serious golfer a great experience.
Mesquite/Ironwood at Kierland Golf Club
Played On 3/25/2013Resort Course that you pay a Premium for Location
Well Kierland has three nines and is a resort course. Many of the fairways have large mounds or hills that help your ball back into play. Course is ok, but not worth $200 per round. I booked on Golfnow and paid half that amount. Anyway, I'd play this course again. Just be cognizant of the green fees. Driving rain was nice.
Legend Trail Golf Club
Played On 3/24/201375% of Troon Courses at about 50% of the cost
Actually liked this course. It is very much like the two Troon courses that I mentioned the Monument and Pinnacle. Legend Trails was $99. Layout and terrain are very similar. The course is not as pristine as Troon. So if you are interested in the golf than I think a pretty comparable experience. If you want the first class service and experience than go to the Troon courses.
Thank you for the great feedback. Our golf course is unique, fun and challenging and our staff help make us outstanding!
We look forward to welcoming you back out again soon!
