The Fairways at Twin Lakes
Played On 09/14/2018Course is in perfect shape
Greens are A+; Sand is A+; Fairways are A+; course is great.
Stonehedge South Course at Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort
Played On 09/15/2015Easy course
Course was in very nice condition, except that traps had not been raked recently. Much easier than I had expected. No water hazards of any kind on the course and greens are essentially flat. But for $26 it's worth a look.
Morrison Lake Country Club
Played On 09/14/2015Best condition in years
This course is one of the shortest and easiest you will ever play. Still, the course was in the best shape I've ever seen it. Kudos to the new ownership. Now, spend some money on some sand and re-sculpt the greens to move forward.
Grey Hawk Golf Club
Played On 08/22/2015Disappointed
For years this course had always been one of my favorites and would drive almost an hour to play. No more. The course is in horrible shape. Greens are pocked up, tees are divot ridden, and fairways are barren. Simply inexcusable. So sad.
Mayfair Country Club
Played On 08/13/2015Great experience
Greens are well maintained, true, and quick. Overall, course is in nice shape with many subtle challenges. Staff was super friendly. And what a deal to play: $28 to play included both a buffet breakfast and lunch!!! Plus I was so impressed that I played another 18 holes for only $10. And make no mistake -- this is a good golf course at 6600 yards.
Punderson State Park Golf Course
Played On 07/16/2015Needs attention
The course was wet and was designated as Cart Path Only. Still, no excuse for the marginal attempt at upkeep. Course was in generally poor condition compared to many times having played it previously. Having an employee fix a few ball marks on the greens and raking sand traps would be a huge improvement.
The Quarry Golf Club
Played On 07/12/2014Favorite course in Ohio!
No question about it -- The Quarry has the most spectacular views in Ohio. Every hole is a postcard. Staff treats you like they really appreciate your business. Definitely a challenge from the tips. Loved it!
Hawks Nest Golf Club
Played On 07/11/2014Horrible customer service
After I booked my round through Golfnow I received an email from the course offering a free lunch (hot dog, chips and coke) after my round. When I asked for my hot dog they said it did not apply to Golfnow bookings. I know it was only a hot dog, but it shows how they treat their customers.
Tyler Creek Golf Club
Played On 06/29/2014Waste of time and money
I've been playing golf for over 40 years. This may be the worst golf course, ever. And they don't take cash. Seriously.
Hawthorne Valley Golf Club
Played On 6/20/2013Requires good shotmaking to score well vs. brute strength.
Love the course. Not terribly long - even from the tips, but requires shot placement skills, putting skills, and excellent course management to score. Course is always maintained in very nice condition. The only drawback to this club is the staff. Don't expect to be treated like a valued customer if you choose to play here. The clubhouse staff, and especially the starter couldn't care less if you play here or not. It's almost as if the staff is granting a favor by allowing play on this (public) course. If you can tolerate the arrogance, the course is exceptional.
Do they serve beer/alcohol? It's been a few years since I've been there but they didn't serve at that time.
You saved good money using golf now and the club didn't make as much money. Spring the $3.00 for the hot dog!!!! Life's too short to be upset about that!
