Palm Harbor Golf Club
Played On 06/16/2019Unexpected news
I was very excited to book my round of golf as I had previously played at Palm Harbor. However, I was a little disappointed that when I did the research on Golf Now, there was no indication that the greens had recently been aerated. The aeration was fresh and the greens were fuzzy. Putting with any accuracy was next to impossible. There was no cart staff available the entire round. I understand we played on Fathers Day and maybe this was a day for the staff to be with family so I not to hard on them for that reason. Just wish I knew about the green situation before I booked the round.
Celebration Golf Club
Played On 06/09/2019First time at Celebration
This course is worth the experience. I live in the Jacksonville area and always try to play a course anytime I am in the Orlando area. This weekend was Celebration, I liked it so much I am coming back in a few weeks. The greens roll a little slower than I am used to but that is probably because it had just rained the night before. There is a fair amount of undulation in the greens so be prepared to play some break in your putts depending on pin placement. I was fortunate to share the round with 3 young men who had played the course before so that made the course management a little easier. I didn't started playing golf until my 50's and I am a high handicap player but have fallen in love with the game so it really made me feel good to see our youth of today to guide me thru the course. Super nice guys. Please be sure to take the time to recognize our youth when you can they will love you for the bonding.

I was in the Davenport area and wanted to get in a round of golf and man I am glad I went to this place. The greens are fantastic, rolled very true. The fairways set up nicely but could have used a little trim in some places but I am not complaining at all. This was the best $25 course I think I have ever played in Florida. and I have played roughly 50 courses in Florida. Well worth the money so go give it a try.
Mission Inn Resort & Club - El Campeon Course
Played On 12/01/2018First time at El Campeon
My first trip to El Campeon was a very good experience. The course was in great shape and I was paired with 2 guys who knew the course well so that helped a lot. The staff seemed somewhat distant and unresponsive. The day of golf had light rain off and on but was still playable. The group of younger players seemed more interested in the cart girls and the beers so play was a little slow, but overall not to bad. The course was very busy so you would expect to have some delays. If you are not familiar with elevation changes like myself then this course will challenge you. It plays much longer than the scorecard indicates. Very beautiful scenery, tee boxes in nice shape, fairway short grass very nice, and greens roll true. As Tiger would say play clean by hitting fairways and greens and you will have a great time.
Thank you for playing with us, we appreciate your feed back. Mission Inn serves to please its patrons a great experience, we apologize about any staff issues. please call us back at 352-324-3885 for any future rounds. Thank you again for your time and play!
The Golf Club at North Hampton
Played On 10/28/2018Wonderful fall day
My group of 4 absolutely loved the day of golf. The weather was a great break to have 75 degrees after a long hot summer of 90 plus temps. The course was breath taking with the elevated tee boxes and sloping hills. Fairway to green was in excellent shape. One of my partners had this course on is bucket list and he was very pleased with his outing. Numerous comments throughout the day about how we should come back and play this course again. We drove a little over an hour to play this course and it was well worth the drive. Sunday's during football season can sometimes be a difficult choice for golf but considering the Jaguars suck this year and they played a horrible game early in the morning in England we were able to salvage the day with some beautiful weather and good fellowship on a wonderful course.
Bay Point Resort - Meadows Course
Played On 07/06/2018Florida wet
We enjoyed our round of golf but just like normal Florida weather we got a good downpour of rain at hole 12-13. The rain doesn't bother me to much but the lightning does. We waited a shorty while for it to blow thru and completed the round. The cart girl was very good, the pace of play was very good. The course it self was in very good shape. I would recommend this course to others. It is just one of those things to deal with in the summer when playing in Florida.
Queen's Harbour Yacht & Country Club
Played On 06/24/2018Difficult course on a hot day
First off the staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. The cart girl came by ever 3 holes and Shane got us off to a good start with his explanations of course layout. There is water on just about every hole. Not exactly the type of course that favors a long ball hitter from the tee. Hazards and water, and dog legs to take into consideration if you plan to hit a 300 yard tee shot. I enjoyed the round of golf even though the day was high humidity and 90-95 degrees. Greens were in very good shape for a course that had been aerated early in the month. This was my first visit to the course and I usually will follow my Golf logix app while playing to understand each hole layout but this day my battery was just about dead by the 4th hole so it would have been nice to have some other form of course layout to assist with managing the shots on par 4 & 5 holes
Omni Amelia Island Resort - Oak Marsh
Played On 06/17/2018Fun day
We picked a fairly hot day to play but the course was certainly not crowded and I was surprised. This is a very nice course for the amount we spent on our hot deal. The cart girl called our lunch order in while we were on the 8th hole so when we made the turn it was waiting for us. Pace of play was what ever we wanted because no one in front of us but we had a 2 man team to catch us fairly quick so we let them play thru. The course was in very good shape and I just wish it wasn't an hour and 1/2 drive for me or I would play more often. We are very fortunate to live in Florida where golf is available year round. Everyone should visit the courses in the Amelia Island area as they are very well maintained. This one will bring a smile to your face. Hope you have as much fun as I did. God bless America!
The Amelia River Club
Played On 06/09/2018Loved this course
From the time we pulled in to play until the time we left. I feel in love with this facility. The staff was extremely helpful to get me and my group off to a good start. The course was not packed so we were able to start about 10 minutes earlier than our scheduled tee time. Fairways were absolutely beautiful, and even though the greens had been aerated a few weeks prior, we found the greens to be very good shape. Hole 14 and 17 were my favorites. The only down side was not cart service but we were able to get refreshments at the turn. I look forward to coming back to this course. Its to bad I live 1 1/2 hours away.
South/North at Fernandina Beach Municipal Golf Course
Played On 06/03/2018Not impressed
Greens were in very good shape but fairway rough was just that (rough). Some grass had not been cut in a good while. Driving range was closed due to recent rains. No cart service offered during the weekend. Gas powered carts were very slow. The west course is open and fairly easy to play. The south course has much tighter fairways but had shade which was nice for the 90+ degree day.
The Club at Osprey Cove
Played On 03/24/2018nice day of golf
The round was excellent until we caught up with a slow moving 3 some. The course got backed up by the time we hit the 4th hole and there was no staff to keep the pace moving forward. Additionally there was no cart service the entire day we were there. We were offered the chance to replay the front 9 again to avoid having to wait on the slower group ahead of us. We chose to stop for a 9-10 hole break at the turn and some of the others choose to go back to the first tee and finish their round. We came to play the entire course so we continued to play the back 9. Because the others made a different choice it actually made the speed of play normal for us completing the round. The fairways were in excellent shape, but greens looked great but were extremely fast. I usually love to play fast greens but these were like rocket fast. To put in prospective on how firm they were you could hit a 56 degree wedge shot straight in the air toward the green and leave no depression so you better play the ball to roll an additional amount depending on shot and club selection. The wonderful staff did inform us that the greens had been replaced and were very fast prior to the round but I didn't expect this kind of speed. I wish I had internet connection that was that fast. Otherwise I loved this course and I will most certainly play again. This place has some wide fairways and is very inviting to play. Scenery is nice but the no see um's that the driving range are not so nice. I hope my review does not sound negative because had it not been for the slow group ahead of us, the day would have been as close to perfect as I could ask for at 70-74 degrees sunny and slight wind.
Golf Club At South Hampton
Played On 02/17/2018Nice Saturday Golf
The greens were in fine shape and the fairways as well. Not a lot of water comes into play here so I actually saved several balls. Greens were really fast which is how I like them but like most folks I could always use some help with my putting. Weather was great today and the staff was helpful. Only concern for the day was no driving range, range was under re-construction and wish I had known that ahead of tee time.
St. Johns Golf & Country Club
Played On 12/27/2017Fun day of golf
Had a great time playing today and got my first eagle on hole 2. This is the third time I have played the course and as always the staff is very friendly and the course is maintained well. I brought 3 other guest who had never played the course and all 3 gave the facility high marks. Lets face it we have many choices of where to play in the Jacksonville area and the price is well within reason compared to other facilities in the area. The pace of play was a little slow on the front 9 but that was due in part to a 3 some that obviously have not played much before. All in all it was a great day of golf at a great value. Beats working on a Wednesday every time.
We're glad you enjoyed your time at Celebration, and thanks for the 5-star review! We look forward to seeing you again next time you're in the area.
