Rio Pinar Golf
Played On 01/25/2024Old Course being revitalized.
Course seemed to be fine. The condition issues we encountered were being addressed. I would consider playing there again in hopes it may be better.
Hill Country Golf Club - Lakes/Creeks
Played On 08/11/2023Great course
Very nice course in great shape for this time of year, especially given the lack of rainfall in the San Antonio area. A very good mix of long and short holes, requiring both left, right and straight drive shapes. The greens were in great shape as well. Whether you’re playing from the tips or the red tees the course is very enjoyable and the staff was very accommodating and helpful.
Shreveport Country Club
Played On 01/28/2015January Golf in Shreveport
My wife and I enjoyed this woodland course. We were lucky to play on an exceptionally warm January day. The course offered plenty of challenge and was in good condition given their recent heavy rains. The Bermuda greens and fairways were dormant but still in great shape for the middle of winter. I would play it again.
The Island Country Club
Played On 01/27/2015Louisiana Golf in January
My wife and I enjoyed playing this links style course while on our way through Louisiana. We were lucky to have great weather and the course was in excellent condition for late January. With plenty of water hazards and well placed bunkers it provided all the challenge you would want. The well stocked pro shop and friendly staff were both very nice. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Baton Rouge area.
The Oaks Golf Club
Played On 01/03/2014Mississippi Gulf Coast Gem
Generally in great condition. I last played the Oaks on January 3rd after attending the Sugar Bowl. The weather was cold and the course was still wet after several days of rain. I was amazed at how well it drained and the excellent shape it was in. The greens were moderately fast but fair and the fairways were still in fine shape even though the Bermuda was dormant and not growing, The Oaks is certainly a must play in the Mississippi Gulf coast area.
The Bridges Golf Club at Hollywood Casino
Played On 01/02/2014Fun and challenging
Great course in excellent condition despite days of rain. I had not played the Bridges since Katrina and was pleasantly surprised to find it even better than before. Only 50 miles from downtown New Orleans we stayed at the Hollywood Casino Resort while there for the Sugar Bowl. The course is challenging though fair with several tees to choose from. Both greens and fairways were in great shape. A definite must play during any visit to the MS gulf coast.
LedgeStone Country Club
Played On 11/2/2013Very enjoyable course to play.
Scenic course with moderate to tight fairways, several interesting holes of various lengths and difficulty. Greens are generally in good condition and reasonably fast. You'll do well to shoot your handicap the first time you play Ledgestone.
