Nice, picturesque course to play

We drove 30 minute to play this course we never played before. The traffic was so bad we arrived 3 minutes AFTER our tee time of 1 PM. The man signing us in told me to see the starter. The starter said we had to let a group of 20 golfers play ahead of us who were to tee off at 1:06 but could not wait a few minutes for us three some to either skip a hole or play ahead of the group. We drove to the first tee and were told that some of the group was going to the 4th hole. Now how could anyone play 2 or 3 holes in 10 minutes if they started at 1 pm? We normally play 18 holes in 3.5 hours if not waiting on every hole. It took us 4.5 hours. I was 4 over on the front 9 and 1 over on the back 9 going to hole #18 which I tripled, the other 2 in my group parred that hole. My son-in-law said it was the best course he had played so far this week. He shot 80 as well and we had played 5X this week. Lots of water and a beautiful course. Need signs to know where to go for each of the 3 courses to the #1 hole. We followed a cart who ended up going home instead of Hole #1. The ranger was excellent, He came by several times during the round, but could not do a thing due to breaking the 20 golfers in a tournament. The greens were a nice speed and did not have an issue with the little weeds here and there for the price of $65 we paid this time of year at Myrtle Beach. I would like to play this course again since it is the course that is most important and not the starter's bad manners to letting 20 golfers play a COUPLE MINUTES LATER than their tee time. NOT NICE!

Thank you for the nice Four Star review of Tiger's Eye. We apologize we were not able to do more to accommodate your group in being late for your tee time. We always try our best to help make the round enjoyable despite unforeseen issues our guests may have encountered before arriving. This is the peak of our busiest season and the courses are very busy, making it difficult to offset a late arrival without any delay. We sincerely apologize we were not able to better meet your needs on this date. We hope you will visit us again soon and we will do our very best to accommodate your group to the best of our ability.

We enjoyed this nice course

This course was fun. The greens were fine even with a few weeds that were mowed down here and there on the greens but did not really affect our score. We paid $48 here and paid the same at other courses nearby that was a waste of money and time. We would recommend playing here this time of year when golf is so expensive. The fairways were not mowed down to the dirt, like another course we played earlier named Sea Trail the Willard Byrd course to be exact. Stay away from that course this month until they fill in some holes that could take your back out and let the grass grow a bit just off the fairways. I recommend you play this course. I will be back again. Thank you for the nice deal.

This course needs improvement

We should have paid $20 more and played a much better course. The price should be $30 to ride. The cart paths had many deep potholes that could easily be filled in. Many roots made it very bumpy. The main issue was the greens were very bumpy worse than courses that had just air rated their greens. Had to have a 2-putt rule due the various types of grass on the greens. If you were just off the fairway the grass was mowed to the dirt. Many places off the fairway had no grass, so you had to stay on the fairway to have grass. I have played many municipal courses in better shape for $20 and was felt that I had wasted my time and money at this course. We did love the pace of play and the cart crew. No one in front and no one pushing us. We played mid-morning.

Great course to enjoy a fun round of golf

I really enjoy this course and the condition. The greens were very nice for the most part. Have to play it several times to know where not to hit the ball to avoid the hills and penalties. Hole #2 has a double tier green (the greens are usually fast, but not a billiard table fast) with a sand trap at the front, so you need to hit a high shot to stay on the green. Hole #5 is a dog leg and a green that you need to be short of the green to stay on the green. Just off the green it slopes severely down to the woods, so that is why you play short of the green 5-10 yard and let the ball roll onto the green. Hole #7 is a par 3 that you will be in the woods if you were long or to the right just off the green. Play for the center or right side of the green. Hole #10 has a big slope to the pond in front of the green. Many times, your second shot is a downhill lie to the green, which I hate. Anyway, it is a great course once you play it a couple times.

Nice, picturesque course to play

I had a family member from California who had never been to our place before, want to play a very nice course. We arrived and found the greens were sandy and very bad to putt since parts of the greens had more sand in places which made the speed different on each green. I really like this course normally, but the price was too high for the condition of the greens. This is a picturesque course, but the price of $130 to play is too high for the local golfer. This course should have a local fee like Las Vegas, Orlando, Williamsburg and Palm Desert, California. The cart persons were very nice. We love to play this course and recommend visitors to enjoy a gorgeous course with lush fairways. Hole #4 needs to make it a 5 par for seniors like me who drives the ball 200 +/- yards and take 3 shots to reach the green from the senior tee box.

This course was very scenic

My friend and I enjoyed the speed of the greens, but you had to make sure you left your approach shot below the hole or you are 3 putting. We found the players ahead of us were kind enough to allow us to play through. We loved this course and played an extra 9 holes. The staff were very nice. I will be back on March 24 with a family member from California who has never been here before. My son plans to bring several golfer friends on March 25 he has 2 slots.

Packed and nobody monitoring pace of play

This course is not one to play if you want to play golf and not want to take 4 hours and 45 minutes. You can see 2 holes open ahead of slow pokes who do not know there are others who do not want to sit with 2 groups on the tee box and get stiff from waiting 10 minutes or longer. When the course is filled to capacity a martial should be required to make sure a group is ready to play for the green and not just teeing off. Golfers pay money to play, so don't speed them up, let them enjoy a 5 hr round, just step aside and allow faster players to play through. I have seen 2 slow groups and the front slow group invite the group behind to play through and they say go ahead, we are fine with a 5 hr round. That is why a martial is required.

Great course to learn and practice playing golf

The greens were nice as well as the fairways. The course is layed out to skip holes if the slow players do not know how to be courteous and allow a faster player to play through and then get back to where you skipped holes and play them later. I played all 18 holes in 2 hours and played a few extra second putts and shot 1 under par. The first ball was 6 over par playing the ball down. I enjoyed the quick round, but thought $20 for a second round was a little high since other courses only charge $25 after 1 pm and this was 3 pm. My initial tee time was 1 pm.

Nice course that is nearby. That makes you play smart to score well.

The sand traps were in sad shape, very little sand. the fairways and greens were nice. The starter was not too nice. The person at the counter was nice. I would play this course again. I played with a local retired man who played well and it was very enjoyable. The second round I played with 2 retired locals and shot 3 under par after the first 6 holes. Then I promptly double boggied the next hole, go figure. It is a course you have to play smart.

This course needs a haircut and less leaves in the fairway

This course took my ball many times in the fairway. The leaves were too plentiful and would hide the ball on one side. It was cart path only even though it hadn't rained in a month and it is reported that we are currently in a drought. The rough was rough deeper than the ball could be seen unless you were lucky to walk over it. I lost more balls that round than most of the season.

This course plays long on many holes.

I was paired up with a couple of guys who only played 9 holes and then joined up with a 3-some for the back nine. I played from the white tees on the front nine and many holes I had a hard time reaching in regulation. On the back nine the 3-some was using the tees one closer which were better for me to be able to reach the greens in regulation. The greens played faster than they looked. I had a good time while my wife shopped in the area. I will play here again.

This course had plush fairways

We enjoyed playing this beautiful golf course. It is one course I would like to play again when I am back in the area. The greens were quite fast, but they ran true. Beginners need to practice at a different course and not tear up this nice course. If you find yourself in trouble don't rush your slow play, allow players waiting at the tee box to play through while you look for balls in the rough or hazards. Being kind to faster players makes everyone happy, you don't have to rush your shots thinking about the golfers watching you play or putt. If a group allows you to play through, but you decline since you are just as slow as the group ahead, allow golfers to play through your group which prevents a bottle neck of 2 slow groups holding the golfers behind who would like to have a faster pace of play. Be thoughtful and aware who is waiting to play behind you and welcome them to play through your group.

Not a course for beginner golfers. Just take pictures

We played at a nice pace until hole #6 a 5 par hole that has undulations. We did not see anyone ahead on previous holes and could not believe they were still off the green when we arrived at our tee shots. They were a 3-some we were a 2-some. We sat quite a while waiting for them to clear the green. Since one of them was quite old, we figured it would take him a while to get to the next tee box. We both birdied that 5 par and could not believe they did not wait a minute for us to tee off and they could have hit their second shot before we arrived at our tee shot since all 3 took 3-4 shots before we felt they were clear for us to hit our first shot. The wait made me stiff and I hit a shot tee shot just past the lake, so I could see they were on the green and I could not reach the green so I hit a nice shot 50 yards from the front of the green. As I came up to my ball the lade marched back to me and said you hit into us. I said how do you figure, I'm 50 yards from the green and you were on the green. She said my father is 85 years old and he cannot play fast. I said who was rushing you? Why didn't you just visit with your father at the tee box and allow us to play though? She said we are members here and a 3 some does not have to allow a 2 some to play through. I said if you were polite you would have patiently visited with your father and husband and not be rushed with your second shots. She said well your not playing though and that's that. I called the club house and asked them if it was true of this course, the more players in a group does not have to allow singles or doubles like in our case to play through? He said he knew who I was referring to and said they were only playing 9 holes, so we can be clear of them on the back nine. I recommended they send out a notice that faster players should always be allowed to play through especially if they hit poor tee shots that require a little time looking for their ball.

Slow play, staff more concerned about NO 5-somes threatened to make you leave the course if you play as a 5-some.

The course itself was fine, the pace of play was horrible. Called the pro shop to have someone speed up play. Saw a marshal look at our tee box with 3 sets of players and no one on the 8th green. Never came over until we were done playing the hole. We had to split up into a 2-some and 3-some from the start and sine we had a 20 minute wait, we watched our 2-some look for a tee shot that was in tall grass. The Marshall was more concerned with them looking for their ball than finding out who was holding up everyone. After he hassled my son, he came to our 3-some asked who called the pro shop, who cares, obviously he should see that in a couple minutes 3 groups will be waiting on the 9th hole. When I asked him to make an exception and allow us to play together due to extreme slow play, NO was the answer. I asked him why, he did not know why like the guy who checked us in at pro shop did not know why either. They both said we just enforce the rules, we do not make the rules. If play is so slow that a 5-some can keep up with the group ahead, other courses allowed us to play together. Our first time in this area and we will NOT play here again, we will make sure the course will allow a 5-some if they do not hold up play. So far we have played 4 other courses and they were slow, but we were able to visit and have an enjoyable round as family from 3 parts of the USA. On hole #17 the Asian ladies playing behind us, said go ahead a play together on these last 2 hole, what can they do, make you leave after the 18th? We did play together and had fun for 2 holes. I recommend other local courses that were in nice shape as well for the same $.

Fairways were not in good shape. I preferred the rough which had more grass. I started 11:20 and ended 5 pm. Every shot was a wait. Could not get any rhythm, my game went to pot except around the greens and putting where you did not have to wait. My driver which is normally decent was horrible due to getting stiff from waiting so long. My score was 94 which was having a birdie on one hole due to a chip-in on one hole #2, 10 pars due to good chips and one putts. The other 7 holes were topped drives, missed fairway woods and iron shots missing the greens due to the lengthy time between shots.

The front nine is flat, the back nine is hilly with lots of trees. Totally different nines.

I have played this course a few times and every time it takes 5 to 6 hours. I do not know who holds up the field, but a marshal needs to monitor the pace of play and pull the group to the side and allow the group behind to play though right away. Don't ruin their slow play by telling them to pick up the pace, tell them to visit with each other a few minutes and enjoy their round. If you like to walk, the front is easy to walk. The back will be more challenging to walk especially #11 take a club or 2 extra for your second shot to the green. Hole #17 is a 5 par. Keep the tee shot favoring the left side. The right side slopes down and that goes for your second shot as well. You'll lose the ball in the thick rough or woods- not worth the penalty. Keep the ball near the cart path or left side of the fairway and you will score well. Hole #18 keep the tee shot left, it will come down the hill and you may even be lucky to be on the green. If you slice, you will likely find your ball in the parking lot.

The course ran out of carts and it took 3 hours to play the easy front 9 once the carts were available. The pro shop was nice enough to allow me to come back a play another 9 holes since there was no way I could play 3 holes on the back 9 before sunset. The pace was 45 minutes for 2 holes. Hole #11 had 2 groups on the tee box, a 4 some in the fairway, and a 4 some on the green. The back 9 is hilly with plenty of trees which is totally different than the front 9 which is flat and easy to walk.
