Costa Del Sol Golf Club
Played On 4/26/2013If you are good at golf then have fun.
Location - This course is located in a complex and looks like the complex is built around the course with houses in between holes and all around. This poses a few problems. Number one, if you are in danger of hitting a slice on a drive, you are going to have a couple of holes where you can directly slice it into oncoming traffic. My room mate slices often and did not enjoy the course because of it. Also the houses are DIRECTLY on the course, meaning you can easily hit windows etc. Was forced to drive through neighborhood streets as this is where the path goes as well.
Difficulty - Greens are narrow. The location makes this course difficult.
Condition - Decent condition, the greens are being redone half at a time so its not great but i would not rate it horrible slightly below average. Tee boxes are slightly above average but some where sandy.
Staff - Very friendly, course is a bit tricky to navigate and the manager (i assume he was the manager) met us a few times as he traversed the course and chit chatted with us. Had no problem with any staff member what so ever.
Features - Beverage trolley drives around on the course, i enjoyed this, maybe this is a feature on many upper level golf courses but I have never seen it before.
Overall - If you are typically a good driver and a good iron hitter (some greens where near the street) go for it with a good golfnow discount. Otherwise stay away you will have a poor time with your concentration being on avoiding hitting cars and windows rather than the game itself.
Cooper Colony Country Club
Played On 4/11/2013Only good for the value on golf now.
I play 1-2 times a week, 3 times if i have no school. As i am a full time college student i do not have a lot of money to throw around and on golf now this course is well worth it 10$ per person with a cart. However anything higher then 12-13$ is a definite no. The course is in bad shape, the greens are overgrown with weeds and bare spots, a lot of the teeing areas are sand and the bathrooms are a mess. The water fountains do not work because the water filters are about 15 years old. The water taste worse than well water. That being said for 10$ this course is a perfect midway course between a executive (9 hole) and a full 72 par. 10$ per person is well worth having a good 3-4 hours of fun even though the course is in bad shape.
If you can spare even a bit more money and its convenient go somewhere else, otherwise note that this course is not a 5 star course and i only give it 3 stars due to the low cost on golf now.
