La Cantera Golf Club
Played On 06/04/2023Great Course
La Cantera Resort has always been one of my favorite courses in San Antonio, always in great shape tee to green, the attention you get form the bag drop, the starter, the mid course snack bar, the club cleaning at the end of your round, everything is top notch, worth every penny.
Golf Club of Houston - Tournament Course
Played On 05/27/2023Great course no Cart Girl
Played the Tournament course, it is in great shape tee to green, not too crowded, so pace of play was good, only complain woud be that there is no drinking water on the course, wish they would have told me when I checked in that there was no cart girl on the course, when the marshall told me this on hole #10 he was kind enough to go buy me a few beers and bring them to me, that was great.
Olympia Hills Golf Course
Played On 05/20/2023Greens are bad
Not sure what happened to greens but they are in really bad shape, to a point that they are unplayable, fairways are in somewhat decent shape but only in the center, a few yards off and you’ll be in dirt mixed with rocks. Overall I would not recommend this course.
Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort
Played On 09/19/2018Great course
I had not played this course in a while, and I was pleasantly surprised in the great condition it's in, the beautiful club house they had, burned down and they're rebuilding, so there is construction going on, which affects the parking spaces and a temporary pro shop and restaurant, but the course itself is in great shape, pace of play a little slow, but then again it was a sunny day after several days of rain so it's understandable. awesome staff!!!
Canyon Springs Golf Club
Played On 03/24/2018Terrible greens
This is overall a nice course, but the greens are always in bad conditions, and keep getting worse, it's a shame because the rest of the course is in good shape.
Bear's Best Las Vegas
Played On 09/24/2017Beautiful Course
I read a few bad reviews about the course conditions, so I was little worried about playing here, but I must say.. me and my buddy were pleasently surprised of the overall conditions, the only thing I would sugest is that being that it was cart path only
because of overseeding, they should put sand bottles in fairway for players to fill divots, there were alot of them. other than that I hghly recomend this course.
Canyon Springs Golf Club
Played On 02/11/2017Extremely slow
I was playing single and got paired up with a two some who gave up after 9 holes due to slow play, we were waiting more then five minutes on every shot, after they left I skipped 10-12 and found out there was a five some that was holding up play, played rest of holes without running into anybody in front of me, that happens a lot on this course, because they have members and allow 5' somes to play.
SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas
Played On 10/27/2015It's a nice course but...
After a very rainy weekend I decided to go play on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon and figured it would be pretty open, and I was right but they had recently over seeded the greens and they were extremely slow, and on top of that they had sprinklers running while we were playing, every time I play this course seems like there is always something that will ruin my round, an unannounced tournament, very slow play and now the sprinklers.
The Golf Club at Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe
Played On 10/16/2015Challenging
The course is overall in good condition from tee to green, long par 4's and 5"s force you to hit driver off the tee, but tree lined fairways call for straight shots to keep it in play, or you'll end up in tree trouble, although unlike other courses...they keep this one pretty clear of brush, so you can find and play most errand shots, but don't expect a low scoring round. my only complaint would be carts are gas engine, old, loud and slow and we didn't see a cart girl during entire round. mostly a local members course, even though it is open to public. I'll probably won't play it again.
La Cantera Resort - The Palmer Course
Played On 06/07/2015Great Course
La Cantera Courses are the best public courses in San Antonio, this is the toughest of the two, lot's of elevation changes and blind shots, greens are fast, especially 2 & 16, try to keep it in play aiming left on most holes, errant shots will be lost. Only complain I have is food and drinks are priced like a resort, too expensive!!
La Cantera Golf Club
Played On 08/24/2014One of the best in SA
Considering the drought we're going thru in San Antonio this is one of the few courses that still manage to keep the fairways and greens in excellent condition, As always awesome staff and great facilities. Definitely recommend it.
River Crossing Golf Club
Played On 7/3/2013Nice Course, Slow Play
I played this course several times and it has always been very slow pace, I've never seen a Marshall do anything about it. It's like the members on this course feel like they own it and outsiders that book thru Golfnow are not important and just have to wait on them. It's a nice course If you are patient enough to wait 10 to 15 min. at every tee box. Green are fast and challenging.
Vaaler Creek Golf Club
Played On 3/16/2013Great Course, Bring your short game.
From the tee boxes to the greens these course is very well maintained, Fairways are in great shape and greens are fast and challenging, you will definitely need your short game for good scores. Worth the 30 min. drive from San Antonio.
Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort
Played On 12/29/2012This course has alot of potential, but needs attention.
This is actually a nice course, very interesting and challenging lay out, the greens are ok but everything else needs attention, the fairways are in bad shape, very confusing car paths with no signage, the great thing was I was able to play 27 holes in 41/2.
Northern Hills Golf Club
Played On 11/3/2012Very nice course for beginers and intermediate golfers, wide open fairways but just enough bunkers and hazards to make you use most of your clubs.
I would've giving it 5 stars but my cart has run out of battery several times, other then that great overall course.
Hill Country Golf Club - Lakes/Creeks
Played On 03/01/2015Not fun if you're an average golfer
To be fair I'll say fairways and greens are in great shape, but I don't understand why so many courses don't keep areas in the woods clean, where if your ball goes in there you can find it or maybe even play it, that would make these tough courses so much average golfer friendly and enjoyable, it would also speed up play.
If you're a low handicapper and always keep it in the fairway than you'll like this course.
