Played On 10/19/2021Superb staff
The course is in perfect condition and a fun play. Doing this review because of the staff tho. You pull up and are greeting at your car by the more then helpful cart staff. They are a perfect group to start your day with. Pro shop staff is also friendly and welcoming as they get you anything you’ll need to play. Starter is friendly and helpful with any questions on playing the correct tees for you. Bev cart just drove by a few times without stopping, which was odd given how everything else went, maybe she doesn’t like making money idk. The restaurant staff was fabulous including the chef. While we were eating lunch between rounds a table other then ours had a question about their food. He took the time to come out and answer their questions and explain exactly how he cooked it and made sure they liked it before walking away. Usually I’ll review places first golf mostly, because that’s why I’m there. But this place has great golf and the staff is extraordinary, so they deserve a glowing review and should be recognized :)

Played On 04/10/2021Rude starter/ranger
I like the course itself as it has a nice balance of holes. Some straight forward holes and some difficult shot making holes too. Not hitting driver is a good choice on many holes to favor placement over distance. The guy working inside the pro shop is always friendly and a joy to deal with. The starter/ranger was one of the rudest and grumpiest persons I’ve ever come across on a golf course. Didn’t get the 12 person group of players going off the first tee in a timely fashion. Being the 4 ball right behind this group we got to see it all happen. Then he drives up to my group teeing off on 7 telling us there’s multiple groups waiting on the tee behind us and we need to play faster. We waiting on that very tee box for two groups in front of us as well and had to wait on 7 too. Being a shortish par for 7th we were teeing off with the group in front of us not yet on the green, so we were not out of position in the least. To make matters worse he told us as he pulled up to “hurry up you’re behind” in the middle of a back swing from our group. My group waited on literally every tee box from the first hole and forever for every green to clear in front of us. He started the problems not doing his job on the first tee then yells at the groups not being the slow group problems. 5 plus hour rounds should never happen on a course that’s not that challenging.

Let me start out by saying the course itself is a challenge and in great condition. Playing it will test your game for sure. The beverage cart girl was a pleasure and the only staff member worth seeing again. The starter was the most rude and obnoxious person I’ve come across. We asked why the group in front of us was just sitting at the fist tee and not going. He actually said “that’s not my job”. You are the starter, telling groups to hit off the first tee is exactly what your job is. He questioned our abilities and our golf knowledge. Asking how we should grip a club and if we played baseball “cause it’s not the same grip”. He stated he’s played more golf in his 77 years then we had so he knows what to do and we didn’t. When I informed him I’m a 2 handicap that plays over 100 rounds a year he said “I guess you don’t work then”. I assured him I do work a full time job and if I treated paying customers like he was treating the groups waiting to tee off I wouldn’t be employed any longer. Won’t go back to a course I like because of interactions like this.

Played On 08/17/2019Needs to mow the course
Booked this course as a something different place to play. Quickly found out that mowing fringes and greens are optional and they choose not to. Fringes were as long as the rough and patchy to boot. The greens were easily the slowest I’ve played all year, I’ve played fairways that were mown tighter then these greens. The holes are close together and someone hitting into your hole thinks yelling fore is optional and not necessary in most cases. I can’t believe they have memberships and higher daily fee rates and aren’t held to a higher standard. I would never be a member of a course that keeps the course in these conditions. One bright spot is the tavern after the round. Don’t play golf and just go for lunch.
Vineyard National Golf Course
Played On 07/04/2019Going downhill fast
This used to be one of my favorite courses in south jersey, but no longer. It’s gone thru ownership and name changes yet again and course conditions seem to not be a priority at all. Your day starts off on a practice green that’s half unusable do to disease and poor maintenance. The bunkers are mostly sand less pits either filled with water or rocks. The greens are slow and incredible bumpy do to the poor maintenance now being done there. The halfway shack for food and drinks never opens now, tho there was a beverage cart out that had a small selection of drinks. It’s a shame what this course has become and the direction it seems to continue to be headed towards.

If you’re looking for a quality course or a good layout, look elsewhere. If you need to get out and hit some balls and can get it cheap it’s ok. The staff is great and the best part of the course by far. Lots of dog legs that require less then driver and usually just an iron off the tee. This includes a “par 5”. Making players hit an iron off the tee on a par 5 should be banned from golf. You can choose to do it yourself, but it shouldn’t be a requirement do to course layout.
Mystic Dunes Golf Club
Played On 10/16/2018Not as good as before
I’m writing this review to counter recent reviews that make it sound this course is farther along it’s comeback then it replay is. The greens were in decent shape, however they are extremely slow. Collars around the greens have inconsistent speeds on every shot. Tee boxes still have some issues with flatness and being fully grassed in. The fifth hole (a par five) has it’s tees all pushed up to the red tee distance of 286 yards. If you can get a good deal it’s an ok play, however do not pay the rack rate. There are many, many better courses in the area for your money

I booked 8 players using golf now two weeks before my date of play for 1009 and 1017. We arrived at the course an hour ahead of our times and were told we had 909 and 918 tee times. As it was these times already this didn’t work for us. I had the reservation and courses email reservation but neither mattered. Got sent out starting on the 15th hole and rushed the entire round by a Marshall. This was not my groups error and it ruined my leagues championship day. Call ahead if using golf now at this course to make sure what you book is what they book.

This is a solid course a little off the beaten path. Course is a fun play and the staff is fantastic and friendly ever step off the way. I'd go back just for them
Twisted Dune Golf Club
Played On 09/28/2017Great layout
This is a great course in South Jersey. Wide fairways give you a chance to avoid deep rough and fescue. Make sure you pick tees for your skill level tho. The blue and black tees are no joke for most. White tees should be the choice for all but the best players as a few par threes can be very long. Conditions are always good and the cart guy/ starter was outstanding.
Morgan Hill Golf Course
Played On 09/03/2017Good and bad
Ok I'll start with the good. Fun layout with elevation changes on every shot. Wide fairways give plenty of room for miss hit shots, still giving an opertunity to get home in regulation. Now the not so good. Pace of play is always an issue here, even when the course isn't full. Many greens have large dead patches. I've played this course three times in the last calander year and still have never been able to use any of the tee boxes on the 13th hole. They have you teeing off from the fairway making a par five a short par four. If it's wet or damp on the carts paths use EXTREME CAUTION going downhill. You will slide and possibly flip on 11 and 12.
Iron Valley Golf Club
Played On 08/20/2017Good course, service stinks
I'll start with the good. Nice layout with a number of challenges. A few holes that can be had with good shots and a few that you need good shots just to par. Course conditions were very good.
Now the bad. Pace of play was SLOW, a ranger never to be seen. Foursome in front of us thought they could drive every par 4, this wasn't the case. The service at the turn wasn't quick or quality. He tried to charge us twice for a few items we'd already paid for. As for the cart girl.. let's just say she's not at all interested in selling anything nor stopping while you hit a shot. Literally kept driving while we hit our shots and never bothered to see if we'd like anything.
So the course is nice, the amarntities aren't at all.
Golden Oaks Golf Club
Played On 08/19/2017Good course
This was my first time playing this course. The greens had recently been aerated, which was noted on golf now as well as an adjusted price for the round. Those were both nice to see. The rest of the course was in great condition and a real challenge at times. Some shortish par 5's that can still bite you if you don't hit good drives or approach shots. Overall a good play and I recommend govibg this one try.
Raven's Claw Golf Club
Played On 04/30/2017Nice course
Overall this is a good play. Biggest issue I had was the greens, they are very slow. Decent layout with a few challenging holes as well as a few really gettable holes too. If you can get a good price give it a go.
North Shore Golf Course
Played On 10/21/2016Nice track
Really enjoyed this layout. Prior reviews talked about greens being too fast and undulated greens. I couldn't disagree more about the greens. They are speedy, but fair and not overly undulated. Had many putts with little or no break or unreasonable sloping. Pick a line and let it roll true. Fun round
Morgan Hill Golf Course
Played On 09/04/2016Go elsewhere
I decided after playing this course about a month ago to give it another try. HORRIBLE MISTAKE ON MY PART. Booked a hot deal on golfnow, which are paid in full at the time of reservation. This course had the nerve to charge us 10 dollars a player more as a "cart fee". Dispite my having my golfnow receipt saying I'm paid in full, including cart.
Now let's get to the course. Tee time was 12:50, not a cart to be found at the bag drop and told they're behind about 15 minutes. 30 minutes later we get a cart and are sent to the tee. Six hours and 11 minutes later we finish the 18th hole. This is unacceptable in any circumstance. The greens are like playing a mini golf course. The only thing missing is a windmill. Blind tee shot after blind tee shot. Six hours on course and we see the beverage cart once. The staff could've cared less about the waiting. How many Rangers did we see in a six hour round you may ask? ZERO. Not once was there anyone to encourage pace of play. We even called the clubhouse and were told "I'll see what I can do". This was a disgrace. No one who plays this course has a divot tool it would seem. PLAY ELSEWHERE YOUVE BEEN WARNED.
John F. Byrne Golf Course
Played On 08/28/2016Watch out
This is a course as it would seem. Very short and very tight. Balls flying all over the place( four is commonly heard). Don't expect anything and you won't be disappointed, expect a decent track and you will be.
Rock Manor Golf Club
Played On 08/27/2016Terrible shape
The "Rock" needs help big time. Fairways are burnt out and have grassless patches. The greens were aerated recently and are horrible to play on. Worst aeration I've ever seen. Skip this course if you're thinking of playing it. Not worth the price
Blue Heron Pines Golf Club
Played On 07/24/2016Nice beach area course
This is a decent track to play. Runs through a development, but homes are fairly far out of play. A little inland from beach locations but worth the drive to play. Staff is great, as the the bar after your round ;). Well maintained and playable for all. Fun day on the course
Bella Vista Golf Course
Played On 05/29/2016Fun, fair play
Bella is a good play for most levels. Better players may miss some toughness, but if you're out with buddies of varied levels this track is for your group. Pick the tee box for your level and go have fun. Always in great condition, with a friendly staff. Signature hole is 14, an island green par three. Take enough club to hit the middle of the green no matter where the flag is and two putt for par. Don't tempt fate and a large number.
