Player at Lyman Orchards Golf Club
Played On 06/25/2018Monday on the Player course
When we play at Lyman we typically choose the Player course. We are accustomed to how it needs to be played (keep the driver in the bag on 2-6). We got a hot deal from Monday and four of us played for about $37 each if you add in the fees.
Course was in really good shape. It was very windy so playing a challenging course already made it that much more challenging. Three of the par threes are downhill so the wind either really hurt you or helped you a lot.
Since it was Monday there was no issue with pace of play. We let one single by us early and never had anyone play up on us until 17.
It took me a while to embrace this course. Now after playing it so many times I prefer it over the Jones course.
Eagles Crossing Golf Course
Played On 06/04/2018Eagles Crossing
My wife and I played this course while on our cross country trip. We were able to get a hot deal and only paid $12.00 each.
The course was in absolutely great condition. The fairways (when we were on them) were green and plush. The rough (where we spent some time) was in my opinion just right. Not too long to make it hard to find your ball but hard enough to make you feel like you want to be on the fairway. The greens were also in good condition. They had been aerated sometime in the past but this did not affect their play. The seemed to have been rolled so our putts rolled true also.
We did not visit the clubhouse after so I do not have much to say about that. There was a counter/bar where it looked like you could get a cold drink and food.
I would absolutely recommend playing here if you are in the area.
LPGA International - Hills Course
Played On 12/08/2017Our round
Staff was friendly from the guys who helped us with our clubs to the bartenders after our round. Course was in great shape. We showed up early at the first tee. The starter was able to accommodate us and had us start on the 10th. Worked our perfectly.
I would recommend this course. We were able to get a hot deal so the value was great.
The Pines at Elizabeth City
Played On 11/03/2017Great morning of golf
My wife and I booked a Hot Deal at The Pines for an 8:36am tee off. Everyone we met was extremely friendly and happy to answer any questions we had. The course was in very good condition and very open. This played well into my slice which sometimes shows it ugly head.
We were able to tee off before the regulars so our round only took us 3 hours 45 minutes. Never played up on another group which we had to wait for.
Fairways were lush and most greens were in great shape. Some greens had some sand but the pins were placed in areas of grass. Perhaps they had recently been aerated.
We would definitely play again if we were staying in the area.
Candler Hills Golf Club
Played On 01/17/2017Great Day of Golf
We played on a Hot Deal. The course was in fantastic shape. We were paired with a couple of guys that were a pleasure to play with. Weather was perfect. It was the third round we played while in Florida and would recommend this course to anyone.
Southington Country Club
Played On 08/07/2016Our Sunday Round
The course was in excellent condition. Play moved right along until about the 15th hole where we got slowed down a little. Not too bad. Still finished in 4.25 hours.
The Back 9 restaurant is also excellent and recommended. Coal fired pizza is always a good choice.
St. Johns Golf & Country Club
Played On 04/27/2015Our round
The course was in great condition. The greens were very fast which took a little getting used to. Course was challenging so knowing where to hit to was important.

We played the Player course Memorial Day weekend. It was one of three courses we played over the weekend. Our tee time was 5:27 AM. Course was in great shape. I should have spent more time in the fairway as the rough was rough. Thick and wet.
Being the second group off made for quick play. 18 holes in 4 hours.
Hawk's Landing Country Club
Played On 9/2/2012Good course. Good value
The course was in decent shape. I have been playing it for a long time as I live in town.
The new improvements with the restaurant and the outside patio are real assets to this establishment.
Tower Ridge Country Club
Played On 7/15/2012I felt this course needed some work
We were playing behind a small best ball tournament. It was a hot day which may play into my review.
We did not finish so I do not have a review with regard to the back nine.
Thank you for playing. Your experience is very similar to a lot of our staff. Once they play the courses several times, the Player becomes their favorite. It's nice to hear this perspective!
