Shendish Manor Hotel & Golf Club
Played On 12/06/2020Short course - Great for practice
This is a short course, but was great for 1st round back after an enforced layoff due to lockdown. Not too many paces where balls can be lost, so useful for a practice round at a good price. ground was in pretty good condition too, especially considering wet weather we've had recently. Greens could do with a roll/cut though. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Played On 09/11/2020Nice course, good value
This is a very nice course in good condition and excellent value. The course was busy, but the conditions of the course were excellent. There was a 2-ball, 2 groups in front that were very slow and held us up, but other than that, this is an excellent course.
A couple of the tee boxes have stunning views.
Aldenham Golf Club - Church Course
Played On 08/27/2020Lovely course, enjoyable round.
very attractive course, with many tree-lined holes framing the fairways and greens nicely. Only downside was we (a 2-ball) were stuck behind a 3 ball who were very slow but showed no inclination to let us through at any point. Made for a slow round. Some of the tee boxes could have been slightly better maintained too.
Rickmansworth Golf Course - Championship
Played On 08/01/2020Good value, cheap round for 18 holes. Early morning round, course was busy even at 7am. Pro shop not open so no scorecard. Short but hilly course. Very impressed with the course on the front 9, but the back 9 not as impressive.
Aldenham Golf Club - Village Course
Played On 07/25/2020Good 9 hole course for practice and/or improvement
9 hole course, was reasonably priced for an early sat morning round, which might explain why it was so busy. Course was in good condition.
Not the longest course, but still more than enough of a challenge for an improver like me.
The course does also make me keen to try out their 18-hole course!

I showed up for a 7am tee off, which I had pre-booked. I was playing solo, and I had a buggy, so I was not going to be slow, but found myself stuck behind a pair, walking, and a 3-ball, also walking.
This was not a major issue, as I was sure of passing them out soon enough.
However, when stood on the fairway of the 1st, with the pair ahead of me putting on the green, another pair behind me teed off and almost hit me. this behaviour spoilt my 1st few holes!
The pair ahead soon let me through, but the 3 ball in front of them took another little while to do so.
I think maybe some of those playing here (not sure if they were members or not) may need reminding of golf etiquette and general manners and consideration!
Other than that, a nice course and nice modern clubhouse

Free round through tee off times and american golf (up to £20)
Tough course for a high handicapper, but alot of fun.Driving range, chipping and putting practice areas also available so no problem if you arrive early.
Buggy's also available and reasonably priced.
Worth buying the course guide.
Beautiful looking course. Highly Recommended!
