Dramatically Improved Tiger's Eye

Our group played Tiger's Eye this morning. Previous outings there have been disappointing due to the lack of maintenance to the greens, tees and fairways. However, the course now has improved dramatically, particularly due to the beautiful rye overseeding and the immaculate putting surfaces. Every green was smooth, cut and rolled beautifully. This had been quite a much needed transformation for a beautiful and challenging layout.

Thank you for the very nice Five Star review of Tiger's Eye. We have been working hard on all four Big Cats courses and they are all in very good shape and ready for a big 2024 and beyond! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Tiger's Eye Was a Disappointment

My friend and I looked forward to playing one of our favorite courses near Myrtle Beach on May 21, 2019. Tiger's Eye layout has been a very nicely maintained track in the past. However, the Tiger's Eye we encountered on this day was very different. I know there's a water shortage in Brunswick County, NC but that doesn't account for the fact that the tees and fairways look like they haven't seen water in months. I could have used a portable drill to make a hole in the tee it was so parched and hard. True, we did get a lot of extra rollout on our drives but this in no way compensated for the neglected fairways, tees and landscaped areas. I thought this was a disappointing value and we won't return until course conditions improve greatly.

Greens were either in poor condition or under construction

We made a tee time at Eagle Nest because we always found the course in consistently good shape and a good value. However, during this visit some greens were in poor shape and others were under construction to the point where they staked out temporary greens on two holes. The tees were generally not in good shape which makes me wonder when the course itself will be ready for summer play.

A Great Day at Heather Glen

I live in the Myrtle Beach/Brunswick County area and have often golfed at Heather Glen. The conditions have always been very good but in my last three outings there the conditions have been excellent. The fairways were bright green, closely mowed and without any clippings. The greens were immaculate and true. It's simply a bargain to golf at such a superbly maintained course.
