Stallion Mountain Golf Club
Played On 03/13/2017Nice value
First time in Las Vegas. Had some time to golf and found this on Golfnow. I was by myself and was paired with another single and a twosome. None of us had played this course before so no course knowledge.
The fairways and tee boxes were in good to very good shape. The greens rolled pretty true and were quick. A lot of little undulations made for some head scratching putts. If you have time to study the greens you should be close.
The pace of play was good, although I think our group was not playing as quickly as we should have. No one in our group played "ready golf". If we had, the round would have been at least 15 minutes shorter. However, we finished in 4 hours.
I think the value was very good given that I was not a resident of LV. Residents get a better break at some courses so beware of Golfnow deals and check that they are not resident only prices. I made that mistake, at another course, and found out the price was double for non-residents.

Had a 2:30 tee time. Didn't expect to get 18 in before dark but played 17 holes as a foursome. The last hole was hard to see your ball but still not bad. Pace of play was just a little slow.
The course is fairly wide open off the tee. If you spray your tee shots a bit you'll still have a chance. Greens rolled fast but were a little bumpy. I suspect this course gets a lot of play as there were many unrepaired ball marks on the greens. IF YOU'RE GOOD ENOUGH TO HIT THE GREEN YOU'RE GOOD ENOUGH TO FIX A BALL MARK!
Fairways were in nice shape as was the course itself. Greens have some undulation but not roller coaster style. Not a long course but sufficient for most. Well placed traps and just a little water make it strategic enough off the tee.
Enjoyed it. I will be back.
