Covered Bridge Golf Club
Played On 03/21/2022Great day on the links
Played Covered Bridge for the first time with my son. All good - great day on the links and could not have been treated any better. 4 stars instead of 5 for course condition simply because of the time of year - Zoya grass was still dormant. This is a first class establishment with all the extras, Enjoyed checking out the clubhouse and all the Fuzzy Z mementos.
The Trophy Club
Played On 07/20/2020Trophy Club of Indiana - great course
Played this course with my son and a friend, both drove up from Indianapolis while I came from 1.5 hours north.
Great course, driving range, excellent condition (tees, fairways, and greens), very challenging, undulating greens, 4 sets of tees, not crowded, better have a good sand game - I could go on and on about all that is good about Trophy Club. Two negative course issues - it had rained the night before and many of the sand traps were water logged. Also, two of us played green tees and some of the holes were a little short.
The Covid policy must be understood by all that golf at TC. We had 3 golfers and each was asked to pay an extra $15 (total $45) for one extra cart. We argued this was an extra green fee and cart fee but not the way the TC staff sees it. Other golfers also saw it our way as we overheard one group complaining and another out on the course we talked to also felt overcharged and had argued in vain.
There is a senior charge that does not come up on the web site and must be asked for when you check in I guess (we missed it but were made aware of it after the round). They won't offer it to you even if you look to be a senior as we do.

First time on this course. Been playing AZ golf for about 8 years and this is certainly one of the best courses in AZ I have ever had the pleasure of playing. Perfect conditions is probably not a strong enough term to describe the condition of this course. Nowhere did I ever have a bad lie. Winding through the mountains with many elevation changes, you'll find yourself losing golf focus as you take in the scenery. Accuracy is at a premium. Not how far you hit it but where you hit it that counts the most. Top off the experience with a friendly and courteous staff and the round is complete!! Don't miss this beautiful course on the far north side of Phoenix,
Ken McDonald Golf Course
Played On 03/27/2017Good value for the money
Early afternoon tee time led to a 3 hour round. Staff extremely nice. Good range and decent putting green. Course has some rough spots but overall in decent shape. A great course to get your game tuned up for the tougher courses in the greater Phoenix area.

My first visit to this course. With a Golfnow tee time for 11 AM, I arrived at the course about 10:15. At the bag drop, I was met by a nice gentleman who showed me where to park as well as the clubhouse entrance. Two different club house attendants helped me and both were very helpful, polite and courteous, After a trip to a clean and well maintained rest room, I was on my way to the range.
The starter, who also runs the snack shop, gave me my range balls and told me who I would be playing with. Now off to the range and putting green. The range balls were fine, but the hitting area was a mat. Not my favorite but I made do. The putting green was a little sparse in place but it did well represent the putting speed of the course.
Now on to the course.
Positives - and there are many - fun layout, beautiful mountain scenery, fairly wide fairways, 4 sets of tees and tees were in great shape, plenty of sand traps with very well maintained edges and sand. Let me say again the sand was perfect to hit from which is a good thing as there are quite a few sand traps on the course. If you miss the fairway and end up in the waste area, you will probably find your ball. In fact, only place to lose a ball is a couple of lakes or hit it over the property fences. Beverage carts stocked by nice young lady who we saw numerous times during the round (usual club pricing - i.e. a little pricey but that is to be expected.) We flew through the front nine but play slowed a little on the back at the par 3's. 4 hours 10 minutes for the round - not bad.
Negatives - As mentioned in other reviews, you will experience some dead spots on the fairways and greens. It seems like the ownership cut back on water and fertilizer. But 90%+ of the course is in good shape. The dead areas did not detract from my fun and for the price were acceptable but could and should be addressed.
All in all it was a very nice day of golf and I would definitely go back.
Another plus, at least in my eyes: As I finished my round, I saw that the course hosts a local high school team. I have the utmost respect for courses that encourage junior golf and tip my hat to the local staff for their commitment.
Mystic Hills Golf Club
Played On 08/04/2014Worth what ever it takes to play this course.
This Pete Dye course in Culver Indiana is worth the drive. Always in great condition, the two nines differ in style with the front more of a British Open style course with heather and lack of trees while the back nine is a little more traditional American style. There are plenty of tee choices so you can make the course as challenging as you desire. Highlights: the bunker on 17 and the elevated 18th green. One final thought - the friendliest staff in all of Northern Indiana.
