Historic course, still in top condition

This is the only Hogan designed golf course in existence and it has been maintained to the highest standards. It recently underwent a major bunker renovation that has drastically improved beach play.

The course plays fair with few technical challenges off the box and through the fairway. The real challenges are found around and on the greens. There is little water on this course but what it lacks in water it makes up for with green-side sand traps. Most greens are well guarded. The greens themselves are the shining star on the Hogan. They play fast and fair, offering interesting undulations without giving off the feeling that you're on a putt-putt course.

The Hogan does provide plenty of excursus for the walkers, not in hole distance but in hole separation.

The staff is everything one would expect from a private club. Members and their guests are treated to a full-service experience. There is never any question as to who the customer is.

The practice facilities are maintained to the same standard as their courses. They offer 2 very large practice greens, 2 large chipping greens and of course a driving range. All practice balls are always complementary to golfing members and their guests.

The course does maintain a dress code for their dining rooms and golf courses which is a nice touch.

I have found that pace of play varies based on what time and when during the week I play. As a single teeing off mid-afternoon I've gotten around in less than 2 hours! Playing in a foursome on a Saturday morning I've played a round in 5 hours. The pros are very good about scheduling tee times, keeping a minimum of 8 minutes between each. This in contrast to some public courses I've played in the area where the pros push you off every 4 min.
