Worth the Play, for sure

I took the Golf Advisor recommendation and played this course. I liked it enough to play 36. The course was pretty challenging but fair. I used a Titleist set of rentals and shot my handicap of 6 so not bad. Fairways were narrow and the rough was fairly long. Being from Florida we don't play in that type of grass so that was a bit different. A lot of elevation changes, dog legs, and unreachable par 5's for me. Course was in Excellent condition even after quite a bit of rain in the area the last few days. I would recommend it to anyone and would play it again, given the time and my clubs :)

Would Definitely Play Again

I was in town on business and was referred to this course only to find out it was private. I was allowed to play it anyway I guess because it was slow. I played the Blues and was very pleased. Course was in great shape. The Greens had recently been sanded (prob a week or so) but were in great shape. I felt there was a definite style change from front to back though. Maybe because they were finishing up some new construction on the back 9 but it was a much different course. A bit longer on the back with some interesting holes. The 1 complaint I had, being a first time golfer at the course, was there was no visual hole information either on the score card or the sign for each hole. I drove into some places I didn't see from the tee. Other than that, I thought the course was a very good test for most golfers. Some short holes and some reachable par 5's and some unreachable par 4's from the blues into a strong wind.

I would play again given the opportunity.

A definite Replay

We were visiting from Florida and were looking for some northern golf, get away from the flat golf back home. We definitely got it here. Course was in GREAT shape, Linda in the clubhouse was very informative even suggesting a eat/play discount that we gladly accepted. Greens were lightening fast but seemed to hold good shots. Rough was fair. The issue a first time player has with this course is there are a lot of blind shots. The Par 5 16 was a reachable par 5 if you layed up short of a deep downhill rough-filled slope that forces you to lay up due to the severe downhill lie. The Free yardage book at the clubhouse really didn't provide a lot of useful information.

I would surely play this course again provided I had the time.

One of the best courses in the area

We played this course the day after hurricane Irma and the course was still in outstanding condition. This is probably the 5th time I have played it and it has been in great shape every time. Was lucky enough to shoot my 3rd, under par round ever (71).

Layout is great, greens are fast (although they were just coming back from being sanded and punched) but I cannot say a bad word about this course.

Needs HUGE amount of care

Although we played this course the day after hurricane Irma, the issues I saw were not Irma related. When I say it was like playing in a cow pasture, that is not far from the truth. We only played 9 holes as I received an email during the round that another course close by was open.

Tee boxes: Very little grass and not in good shape.

Fairways: Almost every fairway had large spots of what I would call diseased grass. Very little "Golf Course" grass.

Greens: EXCELLENT. The greens were very surprisingly in super shape. Not too fast, smooth, held well, very true.

Cart Paths: Numerous issues with them. Need to be repaved.

Rest of the course: Not rated as it was very slow due to the recent storm.

Pace of play was not rated as we were the only ones on the course.

The staff we encountered were very friendly.

Bottom line: I would not suggest playing this course anytime soon. It needs some serious care. There are MANY more options within a very short drive.

New Course is a breath of Fresh Air

What a treat. This course is less than a year old is probably in my TOP 5 of local courses to play. The layout is interesting (3 par 3's and 3 par 5's on the front). The course is so different then other local courses as there is a lot of undulation in the fairways and the greens.

2 holes really get your attention. #8 is a ~175 yd Par 3 with a green that is 60 yards from front to back. #14 a reachable Par 4 for the longer hitters depending on where the pin is.

If you can play it, do so. Well worth it.

One Glaring Weakness of the course

What a great course. Very appealing to the eye. A lot of elevation changes for a Florida course. Unfortunately, when I called, the pro-shop failed to tell me the greens had just been sanded so the greens were in pretty poor shape. I played by myself so the pace of play was not rated. I gave the Course Condition Average because of the greens, but everything else was excellent.

The HUGE weakness with this course is a lack of Pin location information. All the flags were the same color and no pin location information was provided. I purchased a yardage book and that was helpful being the first time I played the course but not having the pin location (even a simple Front, Middle, Back would have helped) had a major impact on my evaluation of the course.

Correct that and I will definitely be back!!!!!

Another Great Experience

This is a really great course for the money. The course was in great shape and played very evenly. with many different tee boxes, the yardages are good for most all golfers.

There are a couple of holes (2 & 10) that could be designed a bit better or at least additional information provided to let you know how to play the hole. I did not see a yardage book but that doesn't mean there wasn't one.

Best suggestion: Bring a GPS as there are a few shots you might want to play over if you knew you could carry.

All-in-all, very nice and will play it again whenever I can.
