Eagle Vale Golf Course
Played On 10/26/2023Great shape for late October
Caught a great Hot Deal for my foursome on a warm Fall afternoon. Fairways were in great shape with some leaves in the rough (expected at this time of year). Green had a good speed with a few bumps from a past aeration. Good day had by all.
Belmont Lake Golf Club
Played On 05/13/2023No warning that fairways were aerated
There was no warning that the fairways had just been aerated and were a complete mess. Don’t know if that’s on the club or GolfNow. Had wanted to play the course based on reviews. The person at the desk was friendly but didn’t mention or apologize for the conditions. The greens were in very good shape, and it’s a solid layout. Will definitely return in future when course is in better shape.
UNC Finley Golf Course
Played On 09/15/2020Always worth playing
Course was in good shape except the greens were very slow, like putting on Velcro. Staff was friendly and efficient.
The Neuse Golf Club
Played On 09/08/2020Neuse was in good shape
Got a very good Hot Deal and was happy to see the course was in very good shape. Bunkers were raked and the sand was very playable. Greens were firm and fast. definitely worth playing..
Great! Thank you for visiting us at The Neuse Golf Club. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Heron Glen Golf Course
Played On 04/12/2019Heron Glen getting in shape for 2019
Heron Glen is one of my favorite courses in the SE PA/ Central NJ area. The course was in great shape for the time of year. As with every other course in the region, Heron Glen's greens were aerated. This made the greens slower but did not otherwise affect putting. Course provided a complimentary lunch (sandwich, chips, & drink) because of the aeration, which was a nice touch. Catching a Hot Deal only makes it a better experience.
Legacy Golf Links
Played On 08/29/2018Solid course and very good conditions
Legacy has a very good and fun layout. The course conditions were also very good, the greens were in excellent shape (several other courses in the area are aerating in late August). The staff was courteous and friendly. The only downside was pace of play; when we reached the par 3 11th hole, we were the fourth group on the hole. A ranger was around but we ended up waiting on every shot thereafter on the back nine. The long wait stopped all the momentum in our round. Using a GolfNow Hot Deal, we caught a bargain rate for a very good course.
Mill Creek Golf Club
Played On 07/29/2018Challenging course with significant elevation changes
Playing from the blue tees, the course was quite a challenge with half the par 4s playing more than 400 yds. Two of the par 3s and the shortest two par 4s played significantly uphill requiring two or three extra clubs, depending on pin position and wind. Landing areas were generous but the greens were generally protected by sand, and some pins can be tucked into some difficult spots. Rough around the greens was thick and the greens were generally receptive because of recent rains. Overall, a nice course that’s worth a play in the Rochester area.
Heron Glen Golf Course
Played On 05/21/2018Nice Day at Heron Glen
The weather has finally warmed up and the aerations have healed at Heron Glen. Despite significant rain in the past few days, the course was in excellent condition; HG is probably the best municipal course in NJ. Im sure the friendly staff is anxious to move from the trailer to the permanent clubhouse in the next 10 days or so.
Ballamor Golf Club
Played On 07/20/2017Nice course near AC
Ballamor was in very good shape on a very hot day. The layout presented some challenges, which caused slow play amongst the few groups ahead of us. There was, however, trees near the tees to provide shade and plenty drinking water to provide relief while waiting. The clubhouse staff were friendly and accommodating...getting us out 40 minutes ahead of our tee time (more time at the casino). The rangers on the course were helpful in trying to speed the pace of play. Locker room included showers and towels that were welcome on such a hot day. Would definitely return, especially with a GolfNow Hot Deal.
Deerfield Golf & Tennis Club
Played On 05/28/2017A difficult course that slows play
The significant elevation changes, uneven lies, and thick rough add difficulty to this parkland layout. Don't pay attention to the yardage,, pay attention to the slope and rating instead. The greens are very often elevated and severely sloped from front to back. They rolled very nicely, and I discovered not to play too much break. The pace of play was slow considering the few number of groups on the course but understandable considering the difficulty of the course. Not one for beginners!
Cream Ridge Golf Club
Played On 11/25/2016Cream Ridge: No Frills Golf
Played Cream Ridge for the first time on a cool, mostly cloudy day. Course set up is generally unremarkable with mostly straights hole going back and forth. The few dogleg holes and holes with elevation or fairway contour provided some challenge. The fairways were playable but the rough was often spotty with balls sometimes ending up in bare patches. The greens were in very nice shape with plenty of contours and provided the best challenge for the course. All the par 3s required a carry over a water hazard that provided some visual intimidation. The pace of play slowed considerably on the back nine. The staff was friendly. Worth a play with a GolfNow Hot Deal.
Eagle Ridge Golf Club - Ridge Course
Played On 09/25/2016Nice Day at Eagle Ridge
Wanted to play the course for a while and caught a Hot Deal on a beautiful Fall Day. Played the Pine/Links 9s; the Links being the newest at the 27-hole facility. The course was in great shape with quick greens. There are numerous elevation changes and sloping fairways, as well as some blind shots. Need to play here a few times to understand best position off the tee. Nice course, nice views, nice staff make for a good experience.
Heron Glen Golf Course
Played On 09/20/2016Heron Glen: Great Day
Heron Glen is in great shape right now. The greens are pretty smooth and quick. Tees and fairways have done very well despite the summer heat. The rough just off the fairway is actually lush. We caught a great Hot Deal ($33 +fees); Hot Deals for Heron Glen are not that frequent and get snapped up quickly. At this time of year other courses are being aerated, so having a really nice course in very good shape is a find. It is a fun layout with five parr3 and five par 5s, providing nice scoring opportunities. While the clubhouse amenities are just average, the staff is very friendly.
Tot Hill Farm Golf Club
Played On 08/27/2016Tot Hill is classic Mike Strantz
Mike Strantz designed visually challenging golf courses and Tot Hill Farm is no exception. There are significant elevation changes to confound club selection, false fronts on greens that repel shots to front pin positions, and rocky hazards that are not for the faint of heart. There are also generous landing areas and reasonable positions to lay up for chances at saving par. It is an excellent layout that challenges all aspects of your game. Having played in late August, the course does show the effects of the heat to some degree. The greens were not perfect but quite playable. The staff is very friendly/helpful/accommodating. The clubhouse is rather spare, and the selection of food and drink is limited. While its location is a bit out-of -the-way, Tot Hill Farm is a must play for serious golfers.
Little River Golf & Resort
Played On 08/24/2016Course is looking tired
Have played Little River several times over the last 10 years. It is sad to see nice facility start to go to seed. It is a tough track for an average golfer. The bent grass greens held approach shots and putted well but were burning out. They really need to consider changing to Bermuda greens for long term viability of the course. Clubhouse staff was limited to two people and the person handling the carts wasn't really interested in taking care of our bags...his loss. Restaurant was closed. Having a Hot Deal made it a reasonable experience for a day. It is clear money is needed bring this club back to good health.
Black Bear Golf Club
Played On 01/12/2016Wait for June
The course design is decent but conditions on the day we played were poor. Despite allowing carts out on damp fairways, the fairways were not mown on the front side and were about 3-4 inches high. Most of the fairways were mown on the back nine. We got a Hot Deal ($17) so it was not horrible. The new owner was a bit upset over that rate; evidently, only players coming out have been using the cheap GolfNow rate. Given the current state of the course/landscape, his expectation of golfers paying rack rate/small discount is unrealistic.
Red/White at Limekiln Golf Course
Played On 06/13/2015Nice course, average conditions
Played here for the 1st time in 20 years with a Hot Deal. Fairways were hard and the greens on flat putts were quite slow and grainy (very slow uphill but quick downhill down grain). Staff was friendly and the pace was good for about 15 holes before catching up with a very slow threesome. Worth playing on a Hot Deal but there are far better courses, if paying rack rate.
Colts Neck Golf Club
Played On 06/06/2015Fun Track in Central NJ
Caught a Hot Deal Price plus bonus Discount from Golf Now on a Saturday to compensate a 1 hr drive. If you can keep the ball in the fairway and hit decent iron shots, you can really score her with 5 par 5s and 6 par 3s ( less than 6300 from back tees). Fairways and greens were in great shape; greens were quick and true.
Bella Vista Golf Course
Played On 06/04/2015Nice Course
First time playing at Bella Vista. Nice track and good conditions. Island green par 3 is fun...not as scary as that at TPC.
Sea Scape Golf Links
Played On 05/25/2015Tough course when the wind blows
Beautiful, windy day but a steal with $25 Hot Deal. South wind made the opening holes play very long from the tips. Many holes look tight from tees but the fairways are generous for straight hitters. Almost all holes play North/South or vice versa, and so the predominantly Southern wind makes club selection tricky. There are quite a few holes that have elevation changes too for a course at sea level. Greens were in great shape; wind affected putts too. Have never eaten here so Average rating for Food/Bev by default. Worth a play in OBX.
