LPGA International - Jones Course
Played On 06/13/2023Best Conditions
Experienced the best course conditions of anywhere I've played in over a year. But here are a few critiques. Very limited drinking water on the course and the beverage cart quit at 2:30. No valet present at bag drop. Marshall gave no information. Carts are pretty beat up and only some have GPS. I'm assuming they don't get enough play to afford higher level of service.

Played On 06/11/2023Worth a Try
Played here for the first time with a late Sunday morning tee time. It was just before a weekly men's group at Noon. Pace of play was very good with a four hour round for us couples foursome. The greens had been aerated the prior week so the fees were low. Greens seem like they will be in better than average condition once they come back from being punched. Many of the fairways are elevated to a degree. So, if you tend to not be don the middle, it can be frustrating if you hit to the sides and your ball rolls into penalty areas. Some fairway issues (condition/drought/weed killer) but not impacting play. As a public course in this part of Florida...that all seem to have one issue or another...this round was enjoyable and I would return and recommend.
Coyote Hills Golf Course
Played On 07/23/2022Challenging Track
First time played. In great shape, just a little dry like most in SoCal. Very challenging track, especially the front 9 with repeated elevation changes. Kind of tight. Harder as first time with some blind hazards. Pace was about 4-3/4 hours on a Saturday. The last 4 holes ground to a halt.
The rate seems $20-$30 too high, but would recommend and return.

Played On 05/22/2022Great Course and Conditions
First time playing here. Thought it was at the top of price range. But, now feels a good value. The course is in excellent shape given public play volume. Greens and tees were best I've seen for a public course. Played on a Sunday in a rare 3-3/4 hours. Will return and recommend.
Talega Golf Club
Played On 03/13/2022Great Potential
I'm living in the area temporarily for a job. As a result, I've played many courses in the area, trying to find the best value. The market here clearly bears these high prices. There is no shortage of player demand. I consider Talega average in it's class. As other reviewers have noted, fairway conditions are below average, the greens are bumpy and the tee boxes have their share of divots. But, for the money even at this price it seems a better value that Tijeras Creek but not as well kept as Arroyo Trabuco, both higher priced.
Arrowood Golf Course
Played On 02/21/2022Nice scenic track in excellent condition.
Played here for the first time on Presidents Day. Full tee sheet gyarantys slower play. To club's credit there was a marshal, but only saw him once Played in 4:30.
Nice clubhouse with outdoor patio seating. Driving range is off mats. Interesting Toptracer reserved section reminds me of TopGolf.
Will definitely return.
River View Golf Course
Played On 11/21/2021Quirky Layout
Played here today and was anticipating slow round based upon other reviews. Our experience in pace wasn't too bad; under 4:30. However, the layout is way too quirky. We were glad to be done. Staff was very good. For the location and condition of the fairways, generally a good value. But, we did not enjoy the layout and will not return.
Oso Creek Golf Course
Played On 11/13/2021Nice course with remote beauty
Played here on a Saturday at Noon. Loved the layout and conditions. However, pace of play was bad...5 hours.
The course is in a remote/isolated area of Temecula. We could not get a cell signal so don't plan to use a GPS app off your phone. The cart had satellite GPS but was limited to providing yardage.
The setting is quite nice, down in a valley. Front nine was mostly level. the back nine was quite hilly with many elevation changes. It would be a challenging walk.

Disney's Magnolia Golf Course
Played On 11/05/2017Nothing Special
We found nothing special about this course. Layout was not as challenging as we expected for a course that has previously hosted PGA Tour events. Conditions were average with lots of weeds/crabgrass in fairways. No clubhouse per se. Food & beverage was limited....mostly beer and a limited selection of mixed drinks with we're mix yourself. Just not the special experience we expected.

Played On 01/13/2017Worth a New Look
I was apprehensive booking a tee time here given the history of poor reviews over the last few years. However, I saw newer reviews suggesting the place was worth a new look. Those reviews were on the mark. All the staff I encountered from the bag boy, to the pro shop, bar and kitchen went out of their way to make me feel welcome and appreciated. Course layout has some quirks. But, it is a fair play with sufficient challenge to meet my needs. I'll be back and just may join. Only drawback is not having a range.

Played On 10/22/2016Too Slow!
Teed off around 12:50 on Saturday. Intially, the pace wasn't too bad. But soon slowed. Round took 5:15. The marshals are ineffective. Had four groups on par 3 11th at one point in our round. Too many holes are always cart path only. Need to fix drainage. Had similar experience back in the spring. Thought I'd try one more time. But, not worth the aggregation, even for a hot deal.

Played On 11/07/2015Enjoyed Our Round
Played here on a Saturday afternoon. Pace of play was good. Did have to wait on some holes. But, overall not bad for a Saturday (4-1/2 hours). Proshop staff okay. Cart staff paid no attention to us even though not husy whenvwe arrived. Why have a bag drop? Rough was a little long in places resulting in too much hunting where you shouldn't have to.

Played On 08/29/2015Good Course-Good Value
This was my second round here in a month. I like the design. Thought others may not like the many mounds that are incorporated into the green complexes for added challenge. There is a good amount of water. But, not enough or in places to frustrate an average player. Tee boxes pretty rough. Greens have felt slow and do have bare spots. I've been told the course is in much better shape than in the past.

Played On 08/02/2015Over Hill & Dale
A friend recommended that we try this course. IMO, it was built on land no one must have wanted. It was much too hilly even for Atlanta standards. The general topography and course layout rarely forgive a mis-hit. I would not recommend or return. Conversely, many must like it, as the course was busy.
Thank you for taking the time to review our course. Our course definitely offers a different layout than most Atlanta courses. We apologize about your sub-par experience, but thank you anyway for visiting our course for your round. Please let us know if there is anything we could have done to improve your overall experience, as we'd love another chance to meet your expectations. Thank you and we hope to hear from you soon. sugarhillteetimes@outlook.com

Played On 05/17/2015Conditions Good. Scenery Better.
Our foresome of high handicappers played on a Sunday afternoon. We found pace of play acceptable given weekend and location. Conditions good. Seems like many of the "good value" courses in the area suffer from grass issues from tee to green. Don't know if from financial pressures, drought or pests. We never found conditions changed our play. Like many Palmer designs, this one has plenty of sand. The views and use of water were quite pleasurable. I would play here again and recommend.
Sandpiper Golf Club - Lakes/Palms Course
Played On 03/07/2015Given the Choice You Might Enjoy Elsewhere
While the greens here are generally in very good condition, the rest of the course is tired. Fairways filled with weeds. I'd guess that conditrions have been a function of the past droughts and maybe limited financial resources. The original developer would have done all a favor by planting trees to create shade. I'd play somewhere else given the choice.
Hi, joed112358. Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing The Amelia River Club.
