Palm Beach Golf Course
Played On 09/01/2020really fun layout, excellent views, anything but boring
not an easy course from the back tees. wind can blow being on the beach and some of the holes have length. course is in good condition for the summer. greens are on the slower side (8-9) but in good shape. really fun layout and a little room to miss on most holes but you can definitely lose some balls. anything but boring and beautiful views. great value, I will be back.
Course #2 Ravines at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club

what a great layout! that is the only positive thing here. extremely poor conditions. tee boxes are barren, greens roll about a 6-7. dead spots all over the greens. fairways covered in weeds. It’s been bad weather in Chicago area but that excuse only goes so far. play dubsdread (if you can afford it) ravines is way overpriced. hopefully they can improve the conditions because it would be a really fun round
We are sorry that playing No. 2 did not meet your expectations. It is a great layout and hope you come back. The month of May brought over 15 inches of rain to Cog Hill. This total is well above the average of about 9 inches for the month. 21 separate rain events kept conditions soggy on the golf courses as it was a rare instance to have enough time and proper conditions for drying. We are hoping for a sunny and warm summer!!
The Club at Emerald Hills

A reputation of fantastic greens year round, mostly, the greens live up to the hype. Hard to find better greens in the summer. However, weeds have begun to creep on the the greens and the grounds crew is not as skilled as they once were, there are mower burns on every green from improper mowing. Sadly it appears that the course is starting to go downhill from lack of funds. Courses let the conditions go during summers in south florida but not usually like this for Emerald Hills. The rough is brutally long in many places because there is nobody available to mow the grass, not a planned length. Fairways are long but healthy. Overall, still one of the best public tracks in south florida but there are many signs that the club is simply out of money and headed in the wrong direction, play it while it’s still nice!
Lost Marsh Golf Course

This course is no joke. I play from the tips and with the wind at this place being near the lake, over 6800 yards can seem like 7100 or 6500 depending on direction. Some really fun par 4s (around the 300 mark), some long tough par 3s, and overall really nice design. There are a few holes that aren't really "fair" starting with the 1st. they require some near perfect shots. other than that, great course for the money and a close drive from chicago. well worth every dollar.
