Green's were a little slow with inconsistent speeds but they rolled great. There was some areas on fairway where they were doing some maintenance. Overall conditions were 4 out of 5. Great value for the money. As good a course as any "well known" course. A lot of fun to play. Very reminiscent of courses in Beaver Creek CO.

Visiting Austin and played this course based on reviews. Course conditions are equivalent to any muni. My wife and I had to carry our own bags in even though there were 3 old guys as staff members. They basically just looked at us carry the bags. After the round, we had to clean and carry our own clubs. The layout was great. Homes are way too close to course. Greens were bumpy.

The Cypress course is a great layout and very similar to Colony West since they had the same architect. I am a scratch golfer from the back tees and consider this course very challenging. The course is not for your average golfer. If you can't hit the ball at least 220 yds. from the white tees, this course is not for you. Pace of play was great (two of us played in just under 3 hrs.). Course condition was poor (compared to what it used to be when it was private) and greens were a little bumpy. In my opinion, any more than $35 is not a great value for this course.

I played both the Palmer and Faldo courses at the Desert Ridge. I am a 3 hcp. player up to courses that are 7,200 yds in Florida. I found the Faldo course short, but challenging. Not a course that you can hit the driver on many par 4s and you better be accurate on the holes where you do hit the driver. The course was being setup for the LPGA tournament next week and the rough was penal. I found the greens difficult to read and undulating. They greens are also very well guarded with bunkers. It was a fun course to play.
