Emerald Hills Golf Course
Played On 07/22/2015Good Exercise
For your legs and short game. The setting is beautiful, and it's a delightfully simple venue.
Only suggestion: an arrow at each green to the next Tee box.
Doral Golf Club, The
Played On 9/3/2013Contrived
This 9-hole course consists of an odd arrangement of stretches of land woven around houses and swamps, artificially contoured with mini mounds to make fairways interesting and neither a course map nor signage on the cart paths to direct players unfamiliar with the course (that would be most players since it's a resort) during their round. It's a practice course. It advertises itself as an 18-hole course and it's pricing discourages people from playing just nine.
One positive - greens are good, though not of uniform speed.
Sprain Lake Golf Course
Played On 5/20/2013Very enjoyable
It is a beautiful setting and an interesting course, enjoyable to play and well-maintained. Carts have GPS screens - nice. The fairways had drained well from the previous two days of rain because it is on hillsides, but naturally the greens were slow. There were repairs and maintenance projects going on on several of the holes, especially #3, but they accommodated the golfers very well. Ladies get a huge advantage off the tee on several of the holes, but most of the par 3's are long for us.
