Should’ve gone anywhere else!!!
Nice layout/routing. Great greens. That’s ALL I got. All anyone can say if they’re honest and have a clue. Terrible management here. Course was packed with a huge group. Heard 30+ carts. Not sure. Got to 14 in well over 5 hours and could do it anymore. But that’s not the worst part of the day. Conditions NOT GOOD to say the least. NO cart girl. How can this be possible on an extremely busy day? Management. NO ranger. Again….how can this be possible on an extremely busy day? At the turn. NO service. One woman actually working the bar/rest. area. One folding napkins. One filling out some kind of paperwork/log book. One connecting a new keg but then she disappeared. 20 mins waiting to pay for one drink and a couple snacks. At the bar. They all walked right by me several times. How is this possible. Women playing in front of us waited 20+ mins for a simple deli sandwich. How? Management.
This place would never survive in the Orlando area.
Never coming back. And I’m trying to find a decent course in this area to play a couple times a year if not more. Horrible management.

Played On 12/23/2023Conditions have improved
Overseeding has definitely helped conditions overall. Still lacking a bit of maintenance. Getting to be known for not mowing or raking out bunkers everyday. Nothing horrible but could be much better. Better all the time. Greens were quick. Faster than I’ve seen them in many years but way too many diseased spots. Especially on the back nine. No excuse for that around here this time of year.
No cart girl today as the tee sheet was light. Kind of expected. Place still needs a ranger. Had to ask a very slow threesome (we were two) to play thru on 11. We were waiting on them every hole/shot since #2. But did finish in less than 4 hrs.

Cut The Grass. 3 simple words that could turn this place around. Great layout. Great bones. From the tees to the fairways to the rough to the greens. Mow it and not only would I come back, I’m thinking a lot of people would come back. Main problem is likely that they’re so far outside of the Orlando area that they don’t think they have to pay attention to details. But they’re wrong. Beautiful day today and besides some young kids tournament going on the tee sheets looked wide open to me. Invest some money in maintenance and this place would shine. Especially the greens. Great shape. Slow as anything I’ve seen in Central Florida. It’s annoying. Mow. Then we’ll talk about the bunker maintenance. One step at a time. Please.

Played On 07/08/2023Just a lack of maintenance….$$$$$$$$!
Just a total lack of maintenance across the board. From tees to fairways to bunkers (not horrible traps) to greens with big sections of disease or fungus. Staff great. Layout great. Just spend some money in the right places and they will come. See ya in 6 more months to see if anything got better. But sadly not likely. Too many choices around Orlando.
Reunion Resort - Palmer Course
Played On 06/25/2023Very good but expected a lot better.
First the good stuff. Great greens. Excellent speed. Very consistent which I love. Amenities if your talking driving range, practice greens, drink cart? All very very good. Awesome cart woman. Super nice and attentive.
Now the rest. If you absolutely love rolling fairways and some just bad lies in the middle of the fairway, you’ll love this design. Perfectly hit drives and you end up with a 25-35 degree lie in any direction. That’s not fair in my eyes. I hit a good drive, I should be rewarded. Not penalized. Not all the fairways are this way but way too many. Always wondered why I don’t hear that Reunion Palmer is one of Orlando’s great golf courses. Now I know. I’ve played Watson but awhile ago., but I do remember liking that course a lot better than Palmer. I’ll stick with that one. Nicklaus still left to try but I hear conditions aren’t great on that one.
Last thing…..Conditions. Tee boxes. Way too chewed up for a course of this pricing. Not all but way too many. About half the fairways suggested I move my ball a bit to get out of weeds and bare spots. Again. Right in the middle of the fairway and I’m looking around for nice grass. Too many times. Rough is hit or miss at best. Bare spots.
This is considered a high end course and resort. You’d expect a high end well kept golf course. Disappointing. I’m going back to Watson next time.

Played On 03/11/2023Course Improvements $$$$$
Awesome to see improvements being done. Total bunker repairs being done throughout the course. And that’s super expensive. Greens very good. Tee boxes and fairway/rough work hopefully to follow. SO much improved from 6 months ago. 12 months ago. And 18 mos ago a total different course. Always loved the routing here. Started playing it 25 years ago plus when it was a great place to play. Def headed back in that direction. Got to thank new owners/management for putting in the money and effort. Fees are a little on the high side right now but so is every course down here. Looking forward to the tourists going back home shortly.

Definitely has come along way in the last year. And still getting better. Probably the best bang for your buck this time of year. Everything is improved. Greens are very good. Fairways are much better than a month ago prob cause of overseeding but still. Bunkers are pretty good too. Need more rakes out there for sure. Tee boxes are pretty good as well. Amenities are lacking but I’d much rather they put their money into the course, which obviously they are. If you haven’t been here in awhile…..give it a chance. Coming back strong.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!……….First of all, whoever gave this place more than 2 stars in the last 2 years either works here or very good friends with someone that works here.
This place does a ton of outings. Why don’t they put any money back into the course???
10-15 years ago, this place was awesome. Played it every time I’d come down. Once or twice a year. Now…….terrible. I’ll explain:
Greens: Front nine greens. Most are 25-50% gone. Trying to patch them but unplayable. Back nine they don’t even totally cut them with the mowers. NO maintenance money being spent.
Fairways: Weeds. Over half the fairways are covered with weeds. Not anywhere near the grass consistency on any hole. And wet. Irrigation fixes are VERY expensive. They can’t even get a mower on the entire green surface. What makes anyone think they’ll spend any money on irrigation fixes.
Bunkers: a lot of bunkers on this course. Most are mud. None have been raked in weeks. Another problem with irrigation. $$$$$…..
Rough: patchy is the best word I can think of. Not good.
So……….used to be a great place to play, practice, and eat. Even the Proshop used to be one of the best in FLA. Still good but who wants to pay good money for anything reminding them of there round at this place???
Forgot the range and practice green. Very much like the rest of the course. It’ll give you an idea of your round about to come up.
Nothing good to say. Zero. Put some money back into this place. It’s not rocket science. Outings equal cash flow. Spend some of it already. Much worse conditions now than the last round I played here. 6 months ago. Not coming back till about a year AFTER they throw this current management company out! Promise that. And I now live 10 mins down the road.
North Shore Golf Course
Played On 10/02/2022Sporadic maintenance issues
I’ve played here many times over the years since they first opened up. I’ve seen the best of conditions here and a couple years ago, the worst. Right now definitely not the worst but far from the best. Farther away from good conditions than they were 6 mos ago when I was last here. Just about all Orlando courses are much improved from where they were around Covid times. Some quickly getting better, some slowly improving. I play all over town every weekend and this is one of the few going the other way. Getting worse. And it’s all a lack of maintenance. Which equals money. A big surge of play nationwide since Covid, so really no reason this course shouldn’t be getting their fair share of that. But you’ve got to put some money in and they will come.
Greens not bad but patchy, torn up, and dead spots on all greens. Weeds everywhere. Maintenance.
Fairways fair but way too much of the grass is weeds. Maintenance.
Tee boxes are not horrible, but that’s always the last concern when you’re in need of upkeep.
This course is a great design. Real close to the airport for fly in/fly out days. There’s revenue. Instead they’re likely headed down the road to Eagle, which is in much better shape.
Disappointed. This course should be getting better. It’s not. It’ll be quite a while before I come back. And I know I’m not alone.

Played On 08/06/2022Very nice Tom Fazio course
Very good condition tee box to green. Great layout. Plenty of room off the tee, but if you make a mistake it’ll cost you a shot and then you have to make up for it with a great chip/pitch or putt. Typical Fazio. Kind of course you could play every day. And I wish I could. A lot of fun today. Great greens!

Played On 07/09/2022Working on it but a LONG way to go!
Obvious that there is NOWHERE near enough money being spent on maintenance. Working on it is all you’ll hear. Without getting into specifics cause it all needs help. There’s nothing good to report here. From tee to green it’s gotten away from them. Will take a few years and a ton of cash to get it back. It’s a shame. Ron Garl did a great job here. Years ago. It’s a great layout. Always has been, but not a playable layout anymore. Shame. Not sure how many times I can say that. But add this course to the list of has beens north of Orlando. Black Bear…getting better. Slowly. Red Tail….. long long way to go. Timaquan…….nowhere near what it used to be. And so on.
2-1/2 Stars is the best it’s going to be for the next 2-3 years. Shame!
Completely agree with you. However. part of the problem is that stupid decisions are being made by the GM, for instance the greens were punched 7 weeks ago, the wrong sand was used and not enough (GM decision) so now 7 weeks later the greens are still bad. They now need to be rolled, will the GM rent the Roller., doubt it. The second cut of rough is knee high. So sad!
Redtail and black bear are not in bad shape whatsoever. These are public courses that get a ton of play. I agree with Timacuan and Victoria Hills. Redtail and black bear are both in good shape…

Played On 07/24/2021Not bad……getting better
Heard this course has been in bad shape but improving. Showed up at about 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon, and the pro shop was locked up already. Asked the bartender if they are still open for play and she said she was taking green fees. I’ve never seen that before. On a Saturday. Staff goes home really early.
The course…….not bad. I like the layout. In its heyday I’m sure it was a real nice place. Greens weren’t bad with just a few bare spots. Bunkers were mostly shot. Either filled with water or packed mud and drying up. Only saw a few in good shape. Tee boxes and fairways were ok. Saw ALOT of areas with not much maintenance. A lot of weeds growing.
Didn’t pay much to play so felt it was worth the money. Not sure if I’d come back. Too many better conditioned and staffed courses around. But I might.
Worth what I paid.

Played On 05/17/2021Terrible shape
Played this course a few times over the years. Even when it was Walkabout. Clubhouse and restaurant are awesome. Course conditions are horrible. From tee to fairway to rough to greens it’s in terrible shape. Very inexpensive in the afternoons but can’t recommend this place to anyone I know for the next year or two. I know they just punched their greens recently but you can tell they won’t be very good till way beyond the normal healing time. If ever. Quirky layout in spots. Always has been but the conditions leave ALOT to be desired. It’ll be a couple years at least till I try this course again. If ever.
Hi Pingdave14. Thank you for taking the time to offer us some feedback. While we hate to hear you had a poor experience at the club, your feedback is important to us as we work very hard to improve. We have been in the midst of a horrible drought since March and it has not let up as of yet. The course is built on an old orange grove, which means very sandy soil. Water tends to run right through it so while we are putting out over a half million gallons of water on the course, when we have these 90 degree low humidity days with steady winds, it tends to dry us out. Our team is working very hard to fight these conditions including putting down 8000 square feet of sod on the tees and tons of fertilizer that helps hold in moisture across the entire golf course. Once rains get here, the course will improve rapidly. The greens have actually made a decent recovery and with just a bit of rain, I think you would be surprised to see how far they have come. Please reach out to info@indianriverpreservegolfclub.com and we'd be happy to go into more detail on all of the things we are doing to combat the drought and to have the course ready to blossom when the rains start. Thanks again for your review and have a wonderful day.

Played On 09/19/2020Nice layout. Good conditions.
Group of 8 of us played for 2 days. Overall conditions were nice. Greens were very good. Fairways and tee boxes were good overall too. Loved the layout. Plenty of room off the tee. Food offered was very good too. Only negative was no cart person on a very busy Friday/Saturday. Course was packed. We had a great time all weekend.
The Ravines Golf Club
Played On 09/17/2020Way too tight off the tee. Gimmicky.
No room to use your driver off about half the tees. I hate that. Way too tight and tricked up. Even cutting the corners left you no room to land the ball. No my style course. At all. Greens were pretty good overall. Not real fast but in good shape. First time there but never going back. You could use a 5 iron on most tees. Not for me!

Played On 08/11/2020Horrible conditions
I’ve played this course many times. Live 90 mins away. Always loved playing here. Great layout. Friendly staff. Awesome conditions. A little expensive but always worth it. NO MORE. Absolutely horrible conditions. Tee boxes chewed up. Fairways just totally not maintained. Bare spots everywhere. And that’s just not from recent storms! Bunkers were concrete. Greens were slow and most had bare spots scattered around. Total lack of maintenance. I understand the virus had it’s effect on business and they cut corners, but we paid almost $90.00 on a Tuesday morning. 5 hours later we finished and wanted half our money back. Staff still very friendly but what is Jaworski thinking that we all should pay WAY TOO MUCH MONEY to play this course. It was crowded, but how long can you live off past reputations and conditions??? It’ll be a LONG TIME before I come back, and it’ll take a lot of convincing from someone to get me to come back! LACK OF MAINTENANCE!!! Don’t expect me to pay for you not to spend money on this course. Ballamoor here I come!

Played On 05/21/2020Evolved into a great experience
First played here quite a few years back and didn’t really remember anything great about this course. It was just OK all around back then. Saw some really good reviews as of late so I thought I’d give it another try. And this time around I was pleasantly surprised. What an awesome day. Nice course setup. Greens could’ve been a bit faster but they rolled nice all day. Conditions were really nice from tees to greens. Amid all this panic going on (virus), these guys from the pro shop to the starter/cart attendants were super nice. This place will be the first course on my list when I’m in DC area from here on! Great job here in the last 10 years or so.
Your feedback is important to us, pingdave14. Thank you for sharing your 5-star experience. We look forward to seeing you again at the course soon! Thanks for choosing Stonewall Golf Club at Lake Manassas.
Ford's Colony Country Club - Blackheath Course
Played On 05/04/2020Great place to play.
Played Blackheath 18 and really had a lot of fun playing. Great course layout. Every hole a little different than the last. Conditions were very good. Starter was awesome but the rest of the staff here is a bit arrogant. Seems like they just don’t need you there unless you’re a member. Golfnow screwed up tee times twice for us but it turned out just fine. Not their fault. One of the nicest courses in the Williamsburg area for sure. I’d play here every time I’m in the area.
Excellent! Thank you so much for the great review. We're glad you had an incredible time and we appreciate your feedback on our staff. We will make sure to use your review to help us improve moving forward. We hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Ford's Colony Country Club - Blue Heron Course.
