Spring Valley Golf Course
Played On 01/19/2021Course In Bad Shape
Not sure what’s going on, but we’re coming out of winter in the next few months and I’ve never seen the course look this dry and yellow. Of this is what it’s like before summer, I fear what it will look like when water restrictions are in play due to drought. Definitely too pricey to play here in these conditions. It’s a shame.
Los Lagos Golf Course
Played On 08/24/2019Overly wet and not trimmed
During the drought years, this was my favorite course. Had the best greens and fairways around. However, now the course is constantly overwatered and not trimmed properly. Unless your perfectly in the fairway, the rough areas are more like short fescue. Good luck finding your ball if you went even only a couple feet wide. Several holes my driver landed and plugged or bounced backwards. Who doesn’t love losing yards off their drive. the greens have two fringes within 4 feet. The first is more like rough on most courses, the second is just straight rough. Because who doesn’t love chipping out of the rough when you’re only 3 feet off the green. All of the sand traps are trash. Over soaked and most AF. Have fun hitting out of the wettest sand you’ve ever seen
Bali Hai Golf Club
Played On 07/14/2018Beautiful Course, but some things to note
The course is gorgeous with beautiful views of the strip. The desert areas are covered in crushed coral to bring out this beautiful white color. The course is challenging, but a real joy to play.
Some things to note:
1) The course right next to McCarran INTL Airport so you hear and see airplanes taking off overhead through your round.
2) The sand traps are trash. They look great from far away, but when you get close, they’re hard and filled with rocks. I didn’t pay $179 for a round just to ruin my clubs in your sand traps.
3) Despite the fact that the course is pricey and seems to be packed whenever you drive by or play, they are closing this course in the next 1-2 years to put in a strip mall. It’s a crying shame
Arroyo Golf Club
Played On 07/13/2018One of the best courses in Vegas
Course is a little far off the strip, but absolutely worth it. Such a beautiful course and it’s very well taken care of too. I’d be happy to play here again.
Ocotillo Golf Club - White/Gold
Played On 03/05/2018Ocotillo for the win
Absolutely gorgeous course. I’ve played several courses here in aZ, never seen one with this much grass. Also, it’s a 27 home course, 24 holes are on water. Definitely not an easy course, but not the most challenging. I can’t wait to play here again
Lake Chabot Golf Course - The 18 Hole Course
Played On 09/12/2017Fun and Challenging Course
The course has many holes with challenging slopes. Not many flat lies. Although short, it's definitely a challenging course that I'd love to play again. Also, they have a fun 9 hole short course if you feel like improving your iron game
Summitpointe Golf Course
Played On 02/20/2016Average Course, At Best!
This course is challenging and as such, can be fun to play. However, the range and restaurant don't open till 9am. So don't plan on getting any practice if you have an early tee time. Besides that, the staff and starter showed up late, so things got mixed up. The 4th up group (a 2some) snuck up and went out 1st, the 2nd group (a 4some) went second, and then my group, 3rd up, (which should have been a 2some) somehow got paired up with the 1st group. Who also happened to be two of the slowest players ever. Get your act together and open up your range a little earlier.
Los Lagos at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club
Played On 11/25/2015Good Course
The course was nice and we had fun playing, but we were constantly waiting on the group ahead of us, and they were waiting on a group ahead of them. The pace was alright, but I did not like that the group behind us (regulars at this course) hit into us several times. I got really upset when one of their players hit less than 15 yds from me, and less than 10 yds from my nephew. I had to call the pro shop a couple times to send the marshal and ask them to wait.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Los Lagos at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club.
Altadena Golf Course
Played On 09/20/2015Great Course
Loved the course! I wish I knew it was a 9hole that you play twice ahead of time, I just opted to play a different set of tees to "switch" it up a little bit. All in all a great course though, hidden in a quiet little neighborhood.
Shoreline Golf Links at Mountain View
Played On 08/15/2015Fun Course, But Here are Some Notes
The course is fun and a little more challenging than I remembered from 5-10 years prior. But it was a blast. The course has nicer grass than a lot of California courses right now, but doesn't charge the hefty price tag of some of the "elite" courses.
Beaches had soft sand, a hard find around here. :)
Kinda a bummer that the restaurant doesn't open or serve beers till after 9am, but once they do, the prices are far better than any other golf course I've been to in a while. Just make sure to grab then around the turn and you'll be set for the back nine.
Cinnabar Hills Golf Club - Lake/Canyon
Played On 08/08/2015Great Course. Wish there was some more "Green" though.
Pace of play was amazing. The group ahead of us was just getting off the green when we went to tee off and the group behind us got to the tee right as we were finishing on the green. Although we are in a drought, I am surprised that a course this expensive has so many dead grass areas. We played Los Lagos a few weeks ago and I've not seen so much green on a golf course in a while. I'll be looking to play greener courses for this price. Otherwise, the prices shoudl be reduced due to the grounds conditions.
Coyote Creek Golf Club - The Tournament Course
Played On 03/21/2015Great Course
Loved the course, the carts have GPS built in to assist with rangefinding. Be careful as the rough contains some poisonous plants and I'm still itching due to a rash from some contact. Won't keep me from coming back, just wish I had some prior warning.
Can't wait to come back and play again.
Hello! We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the course conditions! Our course is made of Bermuda grass, which goes dormant this time of year. All the courses in the area that use Bermuda grass are a little browner than normal right now. We actually use Bermuda because it is such a nice surface to hit off of even when it is out of season. The ground may be a little firmer than usual, but that is because we are preparing for the high amount of expected rainfall over the next few weeks. We can assure you the course is in great condition and as soon as the season is over our course, and all other Bermuda courses in the area, will be completely green again!
