Discovery Bay Golf Club
Played On 12/23/2023Excellent course except for the mud
Everything was fine except the course was quite damp which is what one should expect in Washington in December. Back nine is more like an upper nine with big elevation change and long walks from tee box to tee box.
Oak Knoll Golf Course
Played On 11/21/2023Willl apparently temporary close in December
Wonderful setting, but fairways are lumpy making good contact on the ball problematic. Greens were rehabilitated from being catastrophically dried out last year.
Oak Knoll Golf Course
Played On 11/04/2023Good rustic course.
Great setting. The greens are in much better shape than ever. The fairways got a lot of clumps that need smoothing.
Camarillo Springs Golf Course
Played On 11/10/2022Drove by for years. Finally played.
Definitely worth the money if only for the setting. The drainage is not great with many soggy places even after three days to dry out from an earlier a rain. It could do with better signage as I had no idea where holes 8-10 were (under a bridge with the cart path covered in mud).
Oak Knoll Golf Course
Played On 11/04/2022Quite bad shape
I’ve played Oak Knoll for nearly 10 years. It is my local course. However, it has become a victim of administrative vandalism from last Spring when the water district cut its supply off completely this ruining the greens that are even now under repair creating a ridiculous course in which temporary greens have been created out of completely ungroomed ground making the course a kind of carnival game where ball tracking on putts is random. Until the Parks Department comes up with an alternative contingency plan to irrigate the course. It is not worth playing.
Oak Knoll Golf Course
Played On 10/01/2021Rustic mountain course. Everything is on a slope.
Oak Knoll is 96-years old. One of the oldest courses in Southern Oregon. Fairways are bumpy On some holes one can get a long roll on the grassless “roughs”. If you can play here you can play anywhere. Setting is great. Expect a NW headwind on most afternoons.
Oak Knoll Golf Course
Played On 06/18/2019Golf at Oak Knoll is Challenging
I golf Oak Knoll frequently. It's a good course but will inflate your scoring average significantly given the length, positioning and slopes that typify most of the holes. If you don't get the ball at least 250+ yards out even on the long par-fours and in the right position for your second, your headed to at least bogeytown. Holes 4, and 6 have creek hazards that are pretty much hidden from the tee box. Course is a nine-hole layout with two sets of tee boxes that change of the experience on the second nine.
Oak Knoll Golf Course
Played On 11/14/2018Good course but rustic relative to the manicured courses such as seen in Southern California.
Expect great variation from hole to hole with many sloped fairways and hidden creeks fronting greens. Also a great seasonal variation with lush Velcro grass in the spring and long running near hard pan fairways in the fall.
Legend at Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort
Played On 05/14/2017Really good value for the money
The Legends course is the budget choice at Tacquitz Creek. It's Palm Spring's muni course so it's a real roll of the dice on pace of play. Off season pm is great. Be warned that the greens are fast and the 18th green can have a PGA noncompliant slope depending on pin placement.
Oasis Country Club
Played On 03/21/2017Disclose collared shirt requirement before booking
Two things need to be disclosed before booking at Oasis Club. 1 - Collared shirt requirement. I had to drive 5 miles back home to change shirts. 2 - This is essentially a part 3 course about half the yardage of a big boy layout. Many courses disclose this up front. Oasis Club does display yardage but one has to intentionally check course yardage to get this information. Otherwise okay though my round was about an hour slower due to a very slow group ahead.
We appreciate the review! Thanks for taking the time. Have a wonderful day!
