Glad We Only Paid $25 For This

Got a "Hot Deal" on Golfnow for $25. Regular green fees at this same time ran from $50-$60. Got checked in and the attendant wasn't very friendly.

Went inside and asked about the driving range and free practice balls as stated on the Hot Deal and was told the driving range was close as they were working on it. When I asked where the putting green was, they pointed me over to a tiny island with only 3 holes in it and two other golfers were already using 2 of them.

Had 10 minutes before our tee time and the starter asked us if we were ready. I asked him if I had time to run in and get a couple beers first as we still had 10 minutes. He looked at me like I just asked him to pay for it. Again, not very friendly.

Went inside and asked what kind of beers they had and was told that they were over there in the drink cooler. Walked over there and saw my choices were: Bud light, Coors light and Lite. SMH. This is supposed to be a nice course/resort right?

Started our round and the course in and of itself was in decent shape and it is a fun challenging course. But the lack of signs at 70-80% of the forks made it difficult to know which way to go. The difference between some tee boxes was only like 10 feet?

After about the 3rd or 4th hole, the pace of play became very slow. By the 11th hole, we were consistently waiting to tee off and chatting with the golfers behind us, who were done with their last hole.

My buddy when to use the bathroom and they were locked. When he asked one of the rangers there, he said the key is with the cart key. Really? Where the heck are we playing? I thought this was part of a nice resort? I have never played a course where the bathrooms were locked. It wasn't a huge deal but the attitude of the ranger was less than friendly about it.

The sad thing about it is that we were pretty excited to play this course as we was under the impression it was a really nice one. While the course itself was fun and challenging, the lack of basic detail and poor customer service made it a lot less enjoyable than it should have been.

The one bright spot was the beer cart girl. She was very friendly and nice. Everyone else there should take customer service lessons from her.

Fortunately, there are a lot of golf courses in the valley that get it right. We had played The Raven (which is not far from this course), a couple weeks before and had a great time. We'll not be returning to this course in the near future which is a shame because this course could be great.

Great Day of Golf at an Awesome Course

I hadn't played here before but my buddy had and suggested the Links course.

The customer service was awesome and the course was in great shape. For the most part, the cart's GPS was accurate and easy to use. Overall it was a perfect round of golf.

The only criticism I had was that there are a couple of forks in the road, where there are no signs to indicate where to go. Wasn't as big a deal for us as my buddy had played there before but if you hadn't, it could be easy to get off track at those spots.

Friendly Staff - Carts need some updating

Fun course that can be forgiving off the tee if your shots aren't TOO errant but the greens were often protected by bunkers or water making approach shots fun and sometimes challenging.

Everybody we talked to was very nice and friendly. No real complaints. There was a frost issue in the morning which threw our tee time back about 45 mins but you can't blame anyone for that.

The only thing I would love to see them do is update their carts and also add GPS to them.

Not a bad course but will probably look to play elsewhere.

Course was in good shape and the staff seemed to be pretty friendly but there are just a few things that were missing that I was a little surprised by. 1st, no driving range. Big bummer for me as it really helps my game tremendously to "knock a little rust" off beforehand. They do have a putting green and chipping area but, I like to play courses that have a driving range as well. No cooler in the cart. Minor thing but a nice little touch to have coolers on your cart to keep your drinks cold. Lastly, I was slightly surprised that there was no GPS. Seems like I've played other courses in this price range that all had GPS. Anyway, had a great time and again the course is in good condition but I will probably not return for the reasons stated.
