The course is a nice layout with many good holes. However, the bunkers are very course and have many rocks in them. There were many unrepaired ball marks on the greens although the greens were in very good shape. The are long distances between certain greens and the next tee which makes a golf cart mandatory. It would be impossible to walk this course.

This is a great layout. Unless you hit it a long way, don't even think about playing from the tips. There are two professional length par 4s (#2 and #12) that are really too long for most amateurs. Although the course design is great, it currently is in the worst condition I have ever seen it. The greens are terrible, hard as a rock with patches of dirt showing through. The bunkers are all terrible and need new sand. I blame this on Troon Golf which is the management company. They're so eager to make money that they have let the condition of this beautiful golf course slide. Typically in Las Vegas, the summer heat takes its toll on golf courses. However, I play at different courses throughout the summer and have never seen one in this poor condition.

Highland Falls is always fun to play and is usually in very good condition. However two fairways (#6 and #9) were in very poor shape. The course is not long but can be challenging nonetheless.

This is an older course that has a good layout and design. However, it certainly is not in as good shape as when I have played it in the past. The fairways need some work although the bermuda greens were quite good. Perhaps the reason for poor fairways is the current summer season in Las Vegas. The driving range is poor at best although there is a nice green to practice chipping, pitching and bunker play.

This is a championship layout, so bring your "A" game. The sand in the bunkers could be improved. Unless you have extraordinary length, don't even think about playing it back. There are many great holes to enjoy.

These two championship golf courses are always kept in impeccable condition. Both courses are beautiful and quite challenging. The staff are all friendly and helpful. It is certainly worth the short drive from Las Vegas.
