We were late arriving, but greeted warmly and sent to the first tee. Pretty much had the course to ourselves in a light mist/drizzle. 4 hr round including two rain delays. Frank took care of us with the carts on arrival and departure.

But we had to share it with a lot of casual water, and bugs during this - hurricane season came early. Met the lawn mower guy at hole 4, doing the monthly trim of the fairways. Guess we started too early. Sand traps doubled as water hazards, but course got better as the day went along, tee boxes, greens, but not the traps.

Course needs a refresh, drainage and irrigation, are number 1. Club house is an architectural wonder.

Loved the opportunity to play in this iconic location, in the shadow of the Rose Bowl. A little slow on a Saturday afternoon compared to our round on Course #2 on Thursday. No beverage cart today, though.

Have parked on this course many times in the past, but never had the opportunity to play.

I've played some Canyon courses that are just he[ll]. But this one seemed to be able to maintain wide fairways, flat (and uphill) lies, and remained friendly through all 18 holes. Folks at the clubhouse were friendly and helpful.

I stayed out of them. Made for a good round. Will go back some day when they get their liquor license. People in the clubhouse and starters were very friendly and helpful.

This course is great for saving $$$ on vacation. 3 of us played for the price of one at any other course on Maui.

Great service at the food service trailer, but still no attempt to rebuild the clubhouse after many years post-fire.

On course amenities such as ball washers in disrepair.

All in all a public course experience at a public course fee.

Have played there before but the first time it appeared very much like a public course. This time, the staff came out to our car and got our bags, set us up on the Brand New cart, and sent us on our way. Got done in 4 hours, even with waiting for the 4 some ahead. Very little wind that day

Staff made us feel like we were at a resort course - amazing support at checkin. Great rentals, and did everything they could to make us feel special. I remember this course from the 90's - but it is playing a little short as they re-design the neighborhood.

One holed just didn't seem like a hole. It had two different approaches, one from 6 o;clock for the men and one from 9'oclock for the women. No fairway. Couldn't see the hole -- just shoot over that berm there. Really is a 17 hole course right now .

Very very slow and crowded, even though the group that was supposed to be in front of us was a no-show.

Saw some pretty rude people (and not your typical white male over aggressive types either) yelling from Tee 1 while other folks were Teeing off, and also blocking the bag drop area while talking on their cell. Neither English nor Spanish were the language choice of the day.

Rain arrived somewhat heavy at 15, as it began to get dark - so we bailed.

Watch out for the Coyote guarding the snack shack.

After playing there - I looked at it from above on Google Earth and was amazed at the layout. From above it "Looks" like a public course where you zig zag back and forth and the the fairways line the fairways. But it "Plays" like you are all alone out there - you may see one other fairway.

Our threesome got paired with a very slow older gentleman, that dragged us down, and we were passed by a number of two-somes. Not sure what etiquette is there but the marshalls were were highly active in monitoring our situation. But what can you do?

Loved the air traffic across the street!

Amazing trek through a neighborhood of some really neat homes and town homes. Interesting variety of architecture, some quite strange. There must also be a middle eastern community from the looks of it.

One hole plays like a stadium with houses and town homes looming all 4 sides, with a spectacular waterfall in the middle. Another like a European fishing village. Lots of fun!

Slow help in the bar and restaurant.

Phoenix Temps in the 30's and sun shining bright. A frost delay cobbled up the morning start times, but the staff got things on track, and we started on time at around noon..

Beautiful Views on the Desert 9.

Only issues were the transitions between the 9's - they did not flow well and required backtracking; and the pro shop was closed by the time we returned. With as much non-golf activity at this location has (10 restaurants, multiple hotel properties, Tennis, etc.), i would have kept the store open into the evening dinner crowd. - missed out on a few Benjamins, from our foursome.

On course beverage cart (4 passes during the 18) and restrooms (marked on scorecard) are continuously available.

Rumored to fall to the developer's shovel in upcoming months, this ASU campus course is a gem.

A very "franklloydwright-esque" clubhouse, with the largest assortment of college-themed threads I've ever seen.

The Turkey Pot Pie warmed the insides before blasting off into a high 30's / low 40's (temps, not scores) afternoon.

We could hear the Huskies and Cowboy's practicing for the Cactus Bowl during our round. The location could not have been more convenient to downtown Tempe and West Phoenix

Hope to catch it again before it goes away.
