Kissimmee Golf Club
Played On 03/11/2018Seen Better Days
I have played this course a number of times over the last 4 years, but hadn't been here since last fall. I was shocked at the condition of the course. The fairways are burnt out, the greens play as bad as they look which is an understatement. The tees are also burnt and mostly devoid of grass. One person is checking golfers in while also running the bar and restaurant. Be aware it could take some time to check in. I will have to wait for the rainy season before I try this course again.
Kissimmee Golf Club
Played On 10/21/2017I have played here a number of times and have always enjoyed the layout. Doglegs left (4,6,12) and right (2,8,14,17), good par 3s and challenging par 5s. Greens tend to the small size. Usually the greens are a little slower than the usual Florida courses but consistent. Not on Saturday as there was no consistency green to green. It was very frustrating. Tee boxes were OK but could use some work. No houses on the course as it goes around the Kissimme airport. Definitely will return.
Kissimmee Golf Club
Played On 04/22/2017Good course for all levels
I've played here before and like the layout around the airport. There are no houses anywhere which is unusual for Florida. Good variety of holes. The course is suffering like all the rest of Florida courses from the lack of any rain, yet the greens held OK. The tee boxes and the fairways are ok, but they are hard as a rock. Like most of the courses in this area the ball can roll an unexpected distance, 10 yards off line could turn into 20 or more. I played at noon, there was no starter so I joined another single. Play was extremely slow, 5 hours. This was by far the worst pace of play I've ever experienced here. Check in is always extremely slow. Plan to arrive a little early. Definitely will be back.
White Heron Golf Club
Played On 03/05/2017Nice layout but very slow pace.
Knowledge of course is essential as you can not see a lot of the water hazards as they cut in and out. Also, a lot of holes require less than a driver to be safe. The fairways were hard so the ball can easily run off into the water or brush. Greens did not hold but rolled well when putting. They were very fast. Tees not great, fairways had very tight lies. Playing on a Sunday turned out to be a mistake as we waited on every tee (usually with the group ahead of us). Groups actually left without finishing because of the pace of play. I will try Ridgewood Lakes again just not on the weekend.
Oaks National Golf Club
Played On 01/10/2017Needs Work
As others have written the greens are good. They are very fast but roll well. I found they did not hold shots into them very well, probably because they are new. The layout was good with lots of doglegs which had my group guessing as to the best line to take off the tee. The areas around some of the greens were in poor condition. The fairways were mostly OK. The tee boxes were in terrible shape. There are a lot of water hazards on this course. I would play it again but it would not be my first choice until the conditions improve.
Oaks Course at Stonegate Golf Club
Played On 12/01/2016Work in progress
Overall the course is in decent condition. They are working on a number of areas on the course, most notably sand traps. Sand traps without rakes are to be played as ground under repair. Sand traps that have been removed are newly sodded. Fringes around some greens are long. Greens rolled well. The pace of play was very slow for our last 7 holes as we caught up to a 4-ball tournament in progress.
White Heron Golf Club
Played On 11/23/2016Course needs some work
Played there because I got a Hot Deal on Golf Now. Condition was OK. Greens looked overseeded and fertilized. Course looked very dry. Unfamiliarity with the course can be a problem as there are many water and weed hazards you cannot see that creep into many fairways. Also you may hit through fairways on some dogleg holes.
