Blah Greens

My review would have been higher but the greens are in horrible condition. Not enough grass and too much compacted sand make for lumpy, bumpy putting. The layout is decent enough with quite a few fun, challenging holes and not too many meh holes. The check-in guy seemed like he was having a bad day or was thinking of better things to do. The cart lady was very nice though. The practice areas are decent and no mandatory use of mats on the range either. I would recommend this course only after they improve the greens.

Oh What Fun!!!

Great layout. More shot golf than grip and rip. Fairways a little burnt in just a few places but in great shape for the hot, dry weather this time of year. Pro shop and cart guys were very friendly. No beverage cart but they don't say a thing if you bring your own cooler. Pace was as fast as I wanted to go but with a 10am tee time there weren't many other folks out at the same time. Had a really great time!!!

Won't Forget This One Soon

Watch for the big stone sign on the left side of the road after you get on NM399 because it's not marked all that well. And, yes, the dirt road is the right one.

Now for the fun part. The cart folks, pro shop folks and starter were all very friendly to start the day. My starter, Nick, offered some tips about the course that were good to know. The layout was extremely scenic and fairly challenging. A nice mix of grip-and-rip and shot-golf depending on the hole. You need to play smart on a number of holes and not just hit the longest club you can. Sometimes that 150-yd approach is better than at 90.

Fun and Scenic

Great views and a friendly staff started the day off right. The course is not particularly challenging but there is definitely some shot golf to be had. Lots of fun holes with different strategies available depending on your mood. I would strongly consider joining the men's club if I lived in the area. Worth the drive.
