I don't have a problem with the new mats I think it will help the course stay nicer longer. But some of my buddies hate that you have to hit off the artificially mats that are there for when it is wet. It makes sense and I don't mind, I just think about what I do when I go to the range it's not too far off.

I never realized how much I like the front nine at the Ranch. But the rain last week washed away the bridge. So we played the back nine only. Still a fun challenge and still long. You have to travel a little between the 10th and 11th hole, but the back nine holes are close compared to the distance you have to travel between hole on the front nine. Bring balls if you are unfamiliar with the course. Course lays tight and some OB's on both sides of fairway. Played in the rain and wind, staff thought we were crazy!. and it was still a good place to golf.
