Del Monte™ Golf Course
Played On 08/02/2023Better Option than the expensive courses
Pace of place was a little less than 4 hours on a wednesday 2:20Pm tee time. Could have been faster but the foursome played slow and there is no marshall. Greens were fantastic, not too slow and not racy fast. Rough is mow down making the fairways wider. I would play this course again and not the expensive courses like Spanish Bay or Pebble because their pace of play is too slow. If you want to see ocean just go walk Asilomar Trail in Pacific Grove. It is right on the water and beautify.

Played On 10/31/2021Poor Conditions, Bad Management
All greens have severe burnt grass, many with cracked dirt. They are slow and ball bounces to the hole. Tee boxes are uneven because of gopher problems and no maintenance. Some fairways are dead because irrigation does not work. Bunkers are hard dirt. No bathrooms on the back 9. The one restroom on the front 9 is not maintained properly. And the ladies bathroom is dirty. There are two less than desirable bathrooms in the cart barn to use. Good rate to get exercise. I wish management would do a better job. I know funds are limited but how hard is it to spread a little sand on the tee boxes? Or dig up the dead spots on the greens? Or even lay sod patches in the greens? Or start growing your own replacement green grass to use.
Cherry Hills Golf Course
Played On 08/26/2020Worth the Money & Not as Crowded as Other Courses
The greens role good but run small. 6,330 yd s from Whites and almost 6700 from Blues. There are Black tees if you have the tee shot for it. Plenty of room for a people who spray it off the tee. We teed off at 11:20AM on Wednesday and only one twosome we had to pass. There is a range to warm up and hit off grass. Keep Life in the Fairway
Firecliff at Desert Willow Golf Resort
Played On 06/03/2020Nice Course, Good Looking Club House, Friendly Staff
First time playing Firecliff. Generous fairways from tee. Rough is mowed down. Pace of play was good. Took 3hr 40 minutes for 11:40 tee time on Wednesday. Water with crushed ice stations. Only mishap was GPS did not work until i drove back to the Starter to reset it. Starter stated it was set on Marshall mode. Note to self, make certain GPS is working before teeing off. Restaurant was serving food, dine in, tables were say 10-feet plus apart. There is a fantastic view overlooking holes 9 and 18. Very reasonable option to eat with wife. Also had 6-pack domestic beer for $12 bucks!

Played On 05/08/2017I Recommend you play this course
Great Staff - 3 guys welcomed me in the pro-shop. Very knowledgeable and friendly to 1st time visitor. Had a starter and Marshall. Greens are firm, fast and roll just like you see them. Water is pretty clear, fairway grass in great shape. Fairways are generously wide on most holes. Sides slopes to fairway so many mishits are still very playable. Includes range balls, heard they have a 18 hole putting course where all are par 3's. So get there early to play the putting course and hit balls, and grab bite to eat. Facilities are a nice as the high dollar courses.
The Bayonet at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course
Played On 05/04/2017Hit it Straight!
Nice layout and some fairways are lined with trees that demand a straight drive. Lots of vertical change. Staff in proshop and starter are friendly and knowledgeable. Greens are a little quick, bunkers have more sand in them compared to Pebble Beach. I would recommend playing this course the next time in the area. I played at 2:20 mid week and course was not crowded.
Oak Quarry Golf Club
Played On 09/06/2015Good Looking & Challenging Course
Holes 16-18 are very nice looking, I felt like I was playing a course out of the State, greens were sneaking fast and very hard to read, greens in general on hilly courses are difficult to read, fairways are surprising wide-ish, rough was mowed down, played blue tees 6,600 yards but did not feel that far, lots of down hill shots and fairways roll out, grass next to green allows balls to bounce on unlike ka-killa grass.
Castle Creek Country Club
Played On 05/22/2015Great Super Twilight Golf
played as single on Friday 2:30PM. Some fairways have creek to carry and must have distance control as well. Greens roll pretty good. Will play again.
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Legends Course
Played On 05/08/2015Joy to Play
1st time to play the Legends. Beautiful course, greens rolled true but where slow because of wet weather. Most holes had generous fairways. Played from Blue Tees. Great GPS! You can touch the screen and it will show you distance to where you want to land. Good for Par 5's or if you hit OB and have to lay up.
Indian Palms Golf & Country Club - Indian/Mountain
Played On 05/06/2015Greens Roll True
firm, no ball marks, well maintained fairways, like hitting off a driving range mat, fairways can be narrowish, don't want to take people who slice to this course.
Native Oaks Golf Club
Played On 04/21/2015Some Real Nice Holes
I have been playing a lot of value type courses and even played in Palm Springs last weekend. I have to say that this is one of the better layouts. A lot of water for a course that is very reasonably priced in the afternoon. Greens are soft to hold approach shot and roll pretty good. Rough is mowed down, some fairways are a little narrow. Starting on the par 3 Hole 8, the course picks up some character. It is worth the drive and will play again.
Ken McDonald Golf Course
Played On 03/20/2015Excellent Value Muni Course
Wide green fairways, rough is mowed down, can putt instead of chip close to green, hard greens roll true, nothing sticks, bunkers had lots of sand in them (surprising for muni) friendly staff in pro shop, got great hot deal, don't use address on Divot drive in GPS. Will take you to wrong location. Plug in the YMCA instead and then head to the northwest end of the parking lot across the irrigation channel. Would play again next time in area as warm up course before hit the resorts
Ocotillo Golf Club - White/Gold
Played On 03/19/2015Resort Style Course
wide fairways, lots of water but pretty easy to avoid, greens are diabolical and hard / ball rolls to the back. Play the forward tees on the White course because the greens are split into 3 tiers. Great looking restaurant / bar, water features, feels like a resort. Paid $63 on golf now and worth it.
Oakcreek Country Club
Played On 03/18/2015Excellent Course - Must Play
impecable condition, fairways wide enough, greens tough, recommend playing the white tees because the greens are 3 puttable. Beutiful course and views. Only negative is bunker need sand and not dry clay.
Grandview Golf Course at Sun City West
Played On 03/16/2015Wide Fairways, Hard fast greens
learned most greens are hard in desert. Ball does not sit so play the front distance. Good news is no rough, bad news are the tight lies. Recommend practicing putting with rescue on short chips. A great value course and I would play it again.
CrossCreek Golf Club
Played On 01/11/2015Hard Course but Nice Layout
don't come here if you want to score. I haven't played the course in a while and started on the back 9. Most shots outside of the fairway result in a lost ball and greens have a lot of movement. The good is it is a great looking course, is not surrounded by houses and no noisy roads just coyote's howling. Bring your straight game.
Pala Mesa Resort
Played On 11/27/2014Nice Course for the Money
played it the second time. This time many greens had grass patches probably because of a fungus. Other then that, the course was in good shape. Need to hit ball in fairway. Unlimited range balls for $5 per person.
The Golf Club of California
Played On 10/10/2014Best Hot Deal Course in SD and Inland Empire
1st time played this course, beautiful, fairways wide enough but will be punished if hit off line, greens fast, cup is cut nice with white paint, rough not high, this is a semi private course, club house and pro - shop in stylish Spanish Mediterranean Architect, great ambiance. Driving range is $5 and all the balls you can hit but may have to call to have more delivered, Payed $34 2PM hot deal on Friday. Will play again !
Seven Hills Golf Club
Played On 10/03/2014Reseeding Only Front 9 Open
Played the front nine twice. Fairways are reseeding, cart path only one side. So, if hit ball on the opposite side of the fairway, you have to walk across. Greens were not punched but very slow and bumpy. Marshall (they actually have one) was friendly but making sure you did not try on the fairway and the rough on the opposite side. Course if flax, greens are basically flat, so can score on this course.
