The Links at Hiawatha Landing
Played On 08/21/2022Sunday Funday with friends
We had a great time playing Hiawatha, we brought friends along to our favorite weekend place to play. The pace of play was on que, and there were groups on every hole. The course is in great condition for as dry as it has been this month!
Cider Ridge Golf Club
Played On 02/23/2021All of except absence of face masks inside the clubhouse.
We play Cider Ridge 3-4 times a year, we are part-time residents of the Oxford area. We enjoy playing Cider Ridge, and the course is usually in good condition, weather permitting, even now during the dormant season.
My biggest complaint is this,: we are in the midst of a pandemic, face masks are required EVERYWHERE if you are indoors, every state, period. We played Cider Ridge this afternoon, and previously last October while in town, both times none of their staff, or other golfers in the pro shop were masked! This is inexcusable, and sheer negligence from a business and health standpoint. We will absolutely not return when we are back in the area next month due to lack of protocol.
The Links at Hiawatha Landing
Played On 08/31/2020A pleasure the second time around.
This was our second visit this summer to Hiawatha, we were paired up with another couple, we had a great round, the course was in very good condition for late August, especially with the heat and lack of rain in the area this summer. We willing be back.
Shell Point Golf Club
Played On 01/25/2020Great choice for first round of our winter warmup.
Our firstborn time at Shell Point, we chose it from Golfnow. We were matched up with two gentlemen who play there frequently so their course knowledge was handy. The course was in great shape, the greens were in great shape and not too crazy to read. The staff were all very friendly, we would play here again, and may play erect again this week on our winter warm up vacation.
Harmony Golf Preserve
Played On 03/02/2018Nice test of golf
Harmony was a nice course, plenty challenging in a growing development in the country a little bit. We were paired up with another couple and enjoyed s great round. It was the only place that we played all week with a beverage cart which was nice. Harmony had the most challenging greens of our week in Florida, the course plays longer than most fromthe forward tees so ur was a good challenge.we will definitely revisit next year.
The Country Club of Mount Dora
Played On 02/28/2018Friendly place to play
Mt. Dora was a pleasant find on our Winter warm up week in Florida. We were staying in Orlando and it was a pretty ride through the citrus groves to reach the course. The course was tricky with quite a few doglegs, I would appreciate it more after a few rounds I think. It is a lovely very, mature course with so much flora and birds. We will be sure to return. Fantastic friendly staff!
The Champion Turf Club at St. James
Played On 02/26/2018Nice course for the value
St. James was our first round of our winter vacation. We were a threesome following a foursome, with a twosome behind us. My playing partners were my husband and brother in law. We really enjoyed our round, the staff were all great and welcoming with the exception of the ranger who creeped around us constantly on the back nine! I have never encountered such a hostile ranger before. It was a crowded day, we were never behind the group in front of us, yet he kept telling us, to keep up. We finished our round in 4 hours and 5 minutes. His demeanor was enough to make us not want to return.
Mountain View at Callaway Gardens Resort
Played On 10/22/2017Always a pleasure to play
We venture to Callaway Gardens for a fall weekend every year. The course was in great shape this week, the greens were speedy and in great shape. We played mountain view and the resident turkeys were out and about as usual. Mountainview is challenging but not over the top, packed pretty tight for a Sunday afternoon and a bit of wait time between holes but still a pleasure to play. Never disappointed here.
The Club Renaissance
Played On 03/15/2017Typical Florida neighborhood course
Very nice staff and lovely clubhouse, the course itself showed the worst signs of the recent lack of rain in the area of any of the courses we played on our week here in central Florida. There is no rough and the grass is a bit on the weedy side, the greens were in very nice condition. This is a very fair course for the ladies, could get on all of the par 4 and 5's in regulation without being a long ball hitter. The beds here are plentiful and magnificent, would play again for sure, especially for a warm up to some of the more challenging courses in the area.
Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Oaks/Marsh Course
Played On 03/13/2017Not typical Florida flat.
We played this course with friends who have a home here, very nice condition, quite a few blind shots, nice having a "homer" along. Very busy course, quite a bit of elevation changes for Florida, not an "all holes look the same" course as can be typical down here. Great value for the Golf Now price, would definitely recommend.
Jacaranda West Country Club
Played On 03/11/2017Great start to vacation.
Very nice mature course, in excellent condition. Staff was very friendly, we played as a twosome on a Saturday afternoon, made it around in 3 1/4 hours, almost like our own private course. This was a great start to our golf get-a-way vacation.
Jacaranda West Country Club
Played On 03/11/2017Nice way to start the season
My husband and I played as a twosome on a Saturday afternoon, not crowded andd we played in 3 hrs and 10 Monastery notes! Lovely course, very fair. Some water and well bunkered but not too much trouble if you keep it straight. Greens and fairways in nice shape, nice and flat, just like Florida golf should be. The staff were all most friendly, we will definitely play again.
FarmLinks at Pursell Farms
Played On 04/06/2016Beyond expectations
Played Farmlinks on a girls' golf trip in Alabama, we had heard and read all of the accolades about the course and it exceeded our expectations! It is beautiful to look at and play. Played in the spring with the dogwoods and azaleas in bloom, looked like Masters in Augusta week. The course conditions were superb, the staff were most friendly. We will be back next year.
Debheckenberger,
Thank you for the 5 star review! We are so glad you enjoyed the views and conditions of our course! We are looking forward to seeing you again next year!
Best,

West at Inverrary Country Club
Played On 02/23/2016Nice nostalgia if you are a Jackie Gleason fan
We choose this as our first round in the SE Florida area on vacation. My husband is a big fan of the late Jackie Gleason. He enjoyed seeing his cart in the clubhouse as well as all of the old Honda Classic tournament winners. The staff were most friendly, the course has definitely seen its hey day come and gone. Challenging layout, but needs much work to be a nice tract. The bunkers had not be groomed in some time, grass was sparse in places, and the pace of play was slow. We waited 5 or more minutes on every hole, hard to get into a good rhythm. Maybe would be in nicer shapes little later in the spring.
It can't get much better than that when it comes to reviews or testimonials. We appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts. And, we look forward to your future visits for years to come.
