Twin Creeks Golf Course
Played On 07/30/2017Warm Summer Day
Played this course in the heat of the Texas summer and still had a good time. The course is in excellent shape considering the weather and lack of rain. The greens were a bit slow which is necessary sometimes to prevent them from dying. There were some spots in the fairways that seemed like ground under repair but for the most part the course is well kept. It is a relatively short course so good for any level of golfer but offers some challenges as well especially on holes 16-18. Overall its a good course that I will definitely play again especially for the price point.
Keeton Park Golf Course
Played On 07/22/2017Great Municipal Course
I have to say that the City of Dallas does a great job with their municipal golf courses and Keeton Park is no exception. We played very early on a Saturday and still had little to no wait throughout the round. The greens were in great shape for a Texas summer and overall the course was very green. This was my first time playing and I really enjoyed the round. It is a fairly easy course and I can imagine even easier if you know the track. It seems like it would be a great course for all skill levels and very reasonably priced. It also had a foot golf course which I found to be a pretty cool feature.
Pecan Hollow Golf Course
Played On 06/18/2017Local Favorite
This course is a local gem. It is located not too far from Dallas but feels like it is far from the city. The course is in excellent condition and the greens keepers actually know what they are doing. Rarely do you find a course where the greens roll true for under $75. The only downside of this course is the price and conditions draw a lot of golfers even during the week. The pace of play is consistently about 5 hours regardless of time of day. They would benefit from an active course marshals to motivate slower players but worth the money.
Creek at Indian Creek Golf Course
Played On 01/29/2017Good Winter Golf
For January in Texas this course was in excellent condition. The fairways were dead so the ball ran a long ways but they were still smooth so it played fair. The greens were lush and extremely reactive for the time of year. The greens were quick but rolled true. Overall it was a very good value based on the price we paid. I would highly recommend this course if they keep the price under $50.00 for the winter. The only negative comment I have is some of the pin placements were a illegal and if you missed you had the potential of having a longer putt coming back.
The Trails of Frisco Golf Club
Played On 07/31/2016Great Challenging Course
I played on a hot Summer afternoon and the course was still very responsive. The grass was green and the greens were soft. They had just punched the greens so some putts were bumpy but that is to be expected. The course layout is great but it is very challenging. You don't have much margin for error and if you miss the fairway on some holes don't even bother looking for your ball. Overall this is a great course but its not for a beginner golfer. I would recommend this course to most intermediate to advance golfer for a fun weekend round.
Oak Hollow Golf Course
Played On 06/18/2016Good Conditions, Horrible Pace of Play
I played Saturday morning at 10:12 AM and we didn't hit our second tee shot until almost 11:00 AM. There was not one hole where we didn't have to wait for the group (or groups) in front of us to tee off. Other than the slow pace of place the course was great. The entire course was green and freshly mowed and the greens were firm but fair. I really enjoyed the course layout and the challenging greens. I would definitely suggest playing this course but you may want to play early or on a week day. For the money it is one of the better courses north of Dallas but I will never play here on a weekend again.
Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
Played On 06/08/2016Great Course Local DFW Course
This was my first time to play this course and I hadn't heard much about it prior. The course was in great condition for early summer. The grass was perfectly mowed and very lush. The greens were soft and rolled true. The West Course has a great layout with the front 9 cut into the trees and excellent use of the undulating terrain. There are several blind tee shots and some water but overall the course is moderately challenging. Overall I had a great time on the course and it very much exceeded my expectation. If you are looking for a fun course for a good price I would highly recommend playing Bear Creek. The only complaint I have (albeit a small one) is the green were in need of a mow. One of the better kept golf clubs in the mid cities area.
The Courses at Watters Creek - Traditions Course
Played On 04/30/2016Did Not Exceed Expectation
This was my first time playing this course and I had high expectation from passing by on the highway. The course was very green due to the recent rains, however there fairways and rough were not well kept. There were weeds on some of the fairways making it difficult to have a good lie. There were two greens under repair (which was not mentioned prior to booking the round) and one hole was literally a 10” diameter bucket. The other 16 greens were in relatively good shape but there were some weeds that can throw off your line. One good thing about this course is the amenities, specifically the practice facilities. They also have a fully stocked bar and snack shop at the turn to refill your coolers and a nice clubhouse with a full bar as well. In my opinion, this course is great for beginners looking for a cheap round, but if you’re a weekend warrior such as myself I spend the extra few dollars and playing another course.
Frisco Lakes Golf Club
Played On 03/26/2016Good for your handicap
I played this course on Saturday in March and the weather was beautiful. The course is in good shape and the greens were nice and soft. The course does offer some challenges but for the most part it is a straight forward golf course. Most holes are fairly safe off the tee and are reachable in two if you have moderate distance off the tee. Being that it has the word lakes in the title I expected there to be much more water throughout the course. There are three holes that feature a large amount of water and are fun to play. The course is good for all levels and if you are good tee to green then you should be able to score low. There aren't a lot of hazards to give you much trouble if you can hit it relatively straight. I would come back and I believe this is a good course for the money.
Falconhead Golf Club
Played On 12/26/2015Playing in the Rain
This course offers a wide array of shot selection and rewards the long ball. I played in the middle of December and the fairway was still in good condition and the greens help the ball well. I wasn't expecting much for this time of year but the course exceeded my expectation. This course can be brutal if you don't have a good tee to green game but is fun for all levels. It can be a little pricey but I would recommend giving it a shot if your in the area.
The Golf Club at Champions Circle
Played On 11/25/2015Fun Course & Good Track
This was my first time playing this course and I can say it was worth the 40 minute drive out there. The course was in fairly good condition for late November. As expected the rough was beginning to die but it was not as dry and fluffy as normal which is good because you don't fly right under the ball. The greens were in great condition considering the weather however they did paint them so they were a fake green. The course was challenging but rewarded good iron play which worked great for me that day. I can say this is a good course for all skill levels but it is especially fun if you can approach well. Overall a great course and a great value, I would highly recommend you give it a try.

Coyote Ridge Golf Club
Played On 11/20/2015Good Course Conditions & Challenging Layout
Coyote Ridge is a good course with a great location for those in North Dallas. I have played it several times and have yet to score well. I believe the course conditions are great and the clubhouse is PHENOMENAL, however the layout is challenging in all the wrong places. It has forced carries with extremely shallow greens and long par 4's with fairways sloping towards hazards. The undulation of the course makes it fun however some holes are too challenging to enjoy. If you can stick a 5 iron on a dime you should be fine but for the average golfer you will struggle to hit may GIRs. I would recommend playing if you can find a deal but I can't say I would pay full price to play here. If anything come to the course just to spend some time in the clubhouse.
Hi Achirhart,
Thank you for playing at Coyote Ridge and for coming back again! We are happy to hear that you enjoy the course conditions and the clubhouse. We hope to see you again soon.
Stevens Park Golf Course
Played On 07/10/2015Phenomenal!
I can't say enough good things about this course. I played on a Friday afternoon in the middle of summer and the course was still in great shape and played right at 4 hours. The greenskeepers take great shape of this course and know how to keep it in great shape year around. Not only is it a great course but it also provides one of the best views of downtown Dallas as a back drop. I would recommend this course to anyone who lives in or visits Dallas.
Bridlewood Golf Club
Played On 06/03/2015Great layout but hard greens
I have played this course before and it was in great condition. It played well and the greens rolled true. The last time I played was right after the DFW area had torrential rains. The fairways and tee boxes were very soft and lush however the greens were hard as a rock. You would hit a wedge pin high and it would roll out 20+ feet. Usually playing in the Texas summer you don't expect soft greens but I haven't played greens this hard in a long time. I would recommend anyone in the area play a round on this course but I hope they figure out how to soften the green in the near future.
Hi "PuttingForDough" thanks for the feedback. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our course conditions and layout. But, we are sorry that pace of play was not up to par. We are constantly improving to provide the best golfing experience. We hope to see you back again for another round.
