Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club
Played On 04/02/2015Course in VERY poor condition & many Unfair golf holes and/or "waste areas"
This course needs a lot of work. Tees were so hard you needed a hammer to put your tee in the ground. Fairways & Greens were in so-so condition. The worst aspect of the course were the "sloping away from the fairway waste areas" which lined the tight fairways. If your ball got into these areas it usually rolled out of bounds since they were like concrete. Trying to hit off these areas is hazardous to your golf club & your wrists. In summary this is a nice housing development, with a "supposed golf course" added as an after thought? Staff was very friendly, but the course was not.
Slow pace & aerated greens
Course was not in as good condition as I was expecting. Fairways had several burnt out areas? A portion of each green was aerated, which made putting very inconsistent. Also course seems to have been built "around & in between" housing development. Long distances between greens and next tees make it impractical for walking.

Ballamor Golf Club
Played On 10/20/2014ballamor near atlantic city NJ
Every hole was "a private course unto itself". Staff and local golfers/members were very friendly & helpful. No homes and/or roads bordering the course. A very private and serene, but "interestingly challenging" golfing experience. Course was in great condition with well manicured & maintained tees, fairways (with some elevation changes), good bunkers, & undulating but true greens. Probably not a good "walkers course" due to some long distances between greens and next tee box, but this layout made one feel that "you had the course to yourself". An excellent golfing venue for someone visiting the nearby NJ Shore towns and/or Atlantic City. Good pace of play (less than 4 hours).

Very challenging, but fair golf course. Very scenic course & as of 3/4/15 it is in great condition. Friendly staff. A Private Golf Course "experience" for a daily golf fee. Probably the most interesting & challenging greens in the area! Would certainly play this course again. The only negative is that it is probably not an ideal walkers course because of some large green to the next tee distances, but otherwise it's great!
