Great time at Desert Island. Course is in very good shape. We played early, and pace of paly was amazing. No real complaints other than price is just a bit high. Staff is great as well. I recommend playing this course.

If you've played here in many years past, try not to think of the old days. Course was always in pristine condition in the old days. Since coming out of covid, like most courses, average is considered great. It's still fun, and decent enough where I'd go back again. Greens are slow and some spotty areas around greens. Overall, the experience will likely be satisfying to most players. Staff was really great.

Really disappointed. We get to the course only to find out the course was backed up 1 hour. They blamed it on a tournament, that pushed back tee times 1 hour. People coming off Boulder course complained the round well over 5 hours. Therefore, we ended up playing the short Pebble Course instead. Course in good condition but even that course had wait on every hole. Took way too long. It seems they simply do not manage their play effectively.

Course will challenge you. Course is quite tough, especially on the back nine. Course in very good condition. Just a little overpriced. If you're in Orange County, this course will test all your game. If you've got the budget, you'll enjoy it

Playing here numerous times. Course was in very good shape. That's a bonus as it's not always in good shape. Greens were slow but probably needed as they're quite difficult when there's wind. Overall really good experience.

Course was in great shape, although greens need another month to properly fill in. It's simply getting too expensive to play there. At $194, it has us thinking we better start shopping around. We played Black Friday, but it certainly was no bargain.

Course was fun. Conditions are nice, good greens. pace was a little slow.

The Norman course is always tough. They rebuilt greens, and it's made the course more scoreable. Prior, the difficulty of the layout, along with nearly impossible greens, was not fun. The course was in good condition. When the greens mature, it may be a better track. Time will tell. Staff was fine.

Real happy with the course. Can't say enough good about their great staff. We'd paid, but daughter had health issue and had to leave after paying. Pro shop staff refunded her green fee. Extremely classy on their part and we'll always be grateful. Greens were pure. Classic Pete Dye risk and reward. Few dry spots in rough but overall good experience. Only issue is the bunkers. Some bunkers had very rough surface from tractor grading I think. Still fun Dye golf.

This course is everything you should want. Great weather, conditions, pace of play and staff. Play the tips and you'll be wounded. Play the proper tee and you'll be totally satisfied. Greens are huge. Plan some 3 putts. It's fabulous so enjoy.

Walk it if you can. The course front and back nines are quite different. The front nine is like any basic municipal, though set with wonderful greens. Look out for the families of deer roaming in front of your golf shot. But, the back nine is pure joy. Allow yourself to feel as though you're in Scotland. Trust me, I've been there, and it's a worthy alternative to traveling across the pond. It's not long, but the dramatic sweeping dunes are inspiring. When you're done with 18, play the back nine a few more times, and you'll understand the simple joy it presents.

Two very different courses. Both are great. Considering the green fees on the Monterey Pennisula, this is a great alternative. Bayonet is the players track. It's tight off the tee, but if you can drive the ball straight, the greens are very receptive. Black Horse is much wider, and frankly more fun, especially if you need an ego boost. Tee boxes are stunning in it's set up. The course designer should be applauded for the crafty framing of each hole. It's so much fun. Either course will leave wanting a return visit.
