Mansfield National Golf Club
Played On 05/07/2017took 4 hours to finish 9 holes
I booked my tee time using golfnow.com. The tee time was for 1:53 PM. I arrived at the course at 12:30 PM and find out that there was a kid's tournament taking place at the course with a shot gun starting time of 1:30 PM. I did not see any disclaimer on golfnow website when booking this tee time and instead of getting any sympathy from the people in the pro shop, I was told to come back when its closer to my tee time and told me "its going to be a long day today". I asked if I could tee off before the tournament starts but I was told that was not possible without much of an explanation. I started my round since I had already paid for it but after taking almost 20-30 minute break between each hole due to wait, I decided it was not worth my time finishing the round and end up leaving. It was my first time playing at this course and it was by far the most horrible and frustrating golf playing experience ever!
Tangle Ridge Golf Club
Played On 03/05/2017It was a 30 minute drive for me to get to the course and it was raining throughout my drive. To my surprise, the rain luckily reduced to a slight drizzle as I arrived at the course. The range was closed due to rain earlier in the morning so didn't get to warm up as I would have liked, but all the other practice amenities were in great shape. The course itself was in a great shape as well and after the rain disappearing after first few holes, it turned out to be a great decision to come and play at this course. The greens were pretty fast and the hole locations were brutal to say the least. Overall, it was a lot of fun playing at this course for the first time and I wouldn't mind coming here again very soon!
Cleburne Golf Links
Played On 02/25/2017I had to drive 40 miles to play at this course, but I think it was worth it. The course was in good condition and the greens were lightening fast. I wouldn't mind making this drive some time soon again.
Texas Rangers Golf Club
Played On 10/31/2015Nice course.. will play again
Considering the enormous amount of rain that this region has received recently, the course was in a pretty decent shape. The course played fair and I will definitely be coming again.. hopefully in better weather conditions.
Whitestone Golf Course
Played On 08/23/2015Course needs more water
I played on a Sunday afternoon with very little traffic. The round finished in about 4 hours but the pace of play was better than it sounds for majority of the round up until the last couple of holes where people started playing multiple shots per turn.
The course in general was very dry and the greens were very fast because of that. The fairways were fiery and it was difficult to keep the ball in play.
In short, I would not recommend this course to many people.
Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
Played On 05/30/2015Downgrade since last time around
Played a round with a friend on Sunday morning at 10 am and ended at 3:30 pm. Also, they have taken the GPS off their carts and removed all ball cleaning stations at various holes. Do not know the reason behind these downgrades but this use to be one of my favorite golf courses in the metroplex and I am made to reevaluate that after my recent experience.
Timberview Golf Club
Played On 07/19/2014Confusing but worth the money
Getting a tee time for 7 am in the morning on a Saturday for $20 was a steal. However, having no cart paths and extremely confusing flow of holes explain the price. The fairway was hard as a rock but the greens were in really good condition.
Lake Arlington Golf Course
Played On 07/12/2014Couse is still on temporary greens
The course is currently using temporary greens which makes this course even shorter than it already is. Also, you will encounter problems dealing with yardage as well as hard as a rock greens. Apart from that, the course is in decent shape. You are paying only $20 right now for a round so it all evens out at the end.
