This was my first time playing the course with some history. Yes, this course hosted some PGA/LPGA events in the 80's but it is far from a course that could host any event today. The greens were nice, fairways and rough areas need maintenance as this is Spring and in Florida these areas should be growing in nicely. However, it is apparent that it's just being let go as is and no extra effort to make this a nice track again as it appears was the case in 198*. The price was too high for the conditions as there are several other courses on the West coast of Florida that are pristine with as good or better greens fees. I did enjoy the established layout but....

This is a great addition to several courses already in Lakewood Ranch Florida. Staff is very friendly and courteous, course is well maintained, off-course amenities are not open yet, pace of play was good on holes where the group in front of us is not 5 putting!, paired with a very nice young family, carts have very good course info with accurate pin yardages and just an overall great experience.

Played On 04/24/2016Where Did It all Go Wrong?
I would love to give Bobcat Trail 5 Stars but it is just not there today. I have played this course on and off for the past 15 years and it is just very disappointing to see this course in the condition it is today. The course layout is great and one of the reasons I love playing this course. However, it has been a few years since I ventured down to North Port to play and was severely disappointed in the condition the staff has allowed this course to be in. There are just so many issues here, wild weeds growing in areas that should be part of the fairways and between bunkers, little to no sand in bunkers that should be full of really nice white sand instead of gravel, the shape of the bunkers were a feature and now they look like the cliffs of moher, deep pits in the greens, etc., etc. Please bring this North Port GEM back to its glory days!!
Sorry but this review should be ignored having played on all local courses for the last 3 months including Bardmoor last Sunday and many times over the years. Certainly the management has been rather snotty for a couple of years but the course is simply the best around. The staff attitude has improved over the last few months in terms of seeking a reasonable price to play, and in fact am booking right now for Wednesday.
I would add that I have previously played all the Fru Fru Naples courses which are certainly better than our area, but come at a huge cost. Remarkably, Bardmoor is now an excellent course to play and the staff have a rather less arrogant approach towards the customer..
