Beautiful and Challenging

Aeration is done. A couple greens are still bumpy. Other than that, the entire course is in very good shape. The group in front and the group before them were taking their time but that's expected at a beautiful and challenging course.

Meticulous

It is a shorter course but the elevation change makes it interesting. Robert Trent Jones Jr. did a great job designing the course in the middle of housing developments and still managed to keep the natural settings and majestic view. The course is well maintained like a private course and yet priced as a public course. With the water rationing going on in California, I had a hard time keeping my lawn green. It was an amazing experience to play in a course with meticulous grass from tee to green. The best part is that the course is not busy even on weekend. We could have finished in 3 hours but we enjoyed the game so much that we took all the time we needed and still finished in 4 hours.

An Excellent Muni Course

The Santa Clara Golf Course is an excellent course bu muni standard. The greens and fairways are lush. The doglegs, sand bunkers, and small elevation changes make the course interesting. The pace is resaonable fast as everybody tried to complete the course before dusk.

It would be prefect if there is some sign or map to show the shape of the fairway. A lot of times, I either saw no flag due to dogleg and/or elevation change or a few flags from the tee box. Some signing by the tee box or a map on the scoring card would take the confusion away.

Don't Expect the Dogs to Stay Quiet

The Springtown Golf Course is a 9 holes course. The scorecard has 18 holes but the back 9 are just a repeat of the front 9. The course is flat and the fairways are wide. There are bunker(s) almost every hole.

The course is backed by not so nice houses. Don't expect the dogs to stay quiet when you tee off. The grass is yellowish and spotted with mud puddles.

Feel Great Bombing at the 18th

My driving distance was average but the par 6 18th hole made me feel like a long drive champion. The downhill fairway made my drive and 3 wood shots so much longer.

Flat, Windy, and Slow

The course flat and windy. There are a lot if bunkers and a few water hazard to make it interesting. On weekend, it can be slow. There is a sign by the pro shop that asks people to expect finishing in 4 1/2 hour. A couple foursome in front of us was playing slow and mine took 5 hours.

Go Ahead, Bomb Away

Skywest is one of the best municiple around. The course is well maintained and there is no geese feces. Most of the fairways are long, wide, and flat. Go ahead, bomb away.

Under Watered Overbooked

The course is short and flat but the trees and deers makes it interesting. The course is so under watered that the teeing green are mostly sand and there are patches of dead grass on the fairway. The putting green is well kept. The biggest problem is overbooking. When I arrive the first tee, there were 10 people waiting to tee off and they all claim to have the same tee time. I had to waited half an hour at the first tee and and 5 to 10 minutes at the subsequence tees.

Beautiful Hills and Lots of Forced Carries

The Bridges is an interesting course with beautiful hills and lots of forced carries. A golf cart is a must because of the elevation changes and some of the holes are far apart. The force carries will not be a problem if you can drive 200 yards straight. Bring at least a dozen of ball.

Not Too Bad

Pro: One if the longest 9 holes around
Driving range has plenty of distance markers
Con: Not as well maintained as the other 9 holes around (half weed, half grass)
Slow players (20 yards at a time) in front holding up the course with no Marshall
Players in front and behind were smoking and I had the second hand smoke waiting in line to tee off

A good practice course

The course has been under renovation for the pass few months. It should be done soon. I like how they are beautifying The last two or three holes. Some the greens of the other holes still have lines of uneven ground. The facilities was basic and the fairways are short but the course still make a good practice course for beginners. Advanced folders will find this course uninteresting.

Better than Municipal

- Well maintained, better than municipal courses, not as interesting than top courses (not as expensive neither)
- Windy and a little hilly make it a little harder than rated
- Nice restaurant, club house, snack bar and bathroom centrally located
- Play fast on a weekday afternoon
