maintenance/renovation in progress

Course received rain 2 days prior and was muddy in many spots with combined rain/irrigation. Grass was either sparse or too high. Played the East 9 and found a large Caterpillar front loader parked just to the right of the tee box. They are reconfiguring the drainage channel in front of the green. Greens had been aerated recently and were covered with sand. Would have been good to know these conditions before purchasing the round. The course was not up to its usual standards but will likely play it again.

early overseed blues

Booked an early afternoon twosome for Silverado, a course I've played many times. The staff here is usually very attentive. Unfortunately, we were paired with two not so proficient golfers who spent much of their time scouring the hinterlands for errant golf balls. They did not speed up until the sun was going down. Not the Club's fault, but please, if you are fairly new to the game quit keeping score. Quit the desperate, pointless practice swings and please, just drop another ball. You'll Improve (read speed up) everyone's game.
The course looked great after its recent over seed. The greens rolled well enough, but the fairways were damp and often muddy with no rollout. The rye grass was overgrown (5" plus) in some areas. Can't this be mowed? I actually lost a ball plugged in high grass in front of the 7th green.
4 hours and 40 minutes into our round, darkness forced us to quit. The final insult was tipping the bag boy wiping down my clubs, only to find them still dirty the next day.
I've always enjoyed Silverado. If they want to compete with the high end courses in Scottsdale, service and conditions need to improve.

nice course

Very nice facility. Staff was helpful and friendly. Course was in good condition. Layout could present some challenges from longer tees, which we did not play. Fairly straightforward links that circles through the houses. I will play it again.

Scottsdale tradition

Have played this course several times. Plays short. It is in good condition and hopefully that lasts through the summer. Well-staffed. Only real drawback is the limited practice area.

Bare Spots

I have played this course several times, but never seen it in such poor condition. The greens, fairways and rough areas all had bare patches of ground. Several fairways were yellowed as if they had not been watered recently. This is a good layout but conditions need to improve.

very good course

This course is maintained in above average condition for sumer time play. The layout provides a good mix of average to fairly difficult challenges. Overall, a fair links type course that winds through the Sun City West community. Good value for the money on the Northwest side. On par with Corte Bella. Appears they offer only one tee time on GolfNow per day. I was told they like to keep all the GolfNow customers together.

Good course below average conditions at the time

This is a good layout that rewards good shots and has fair penalties for bad shots. Good sand. House lined fairways. Unfortunately, when we played, the Club had just killed the bermuda grass to prep for overseeding. Conditions were below average to poor. Wish we would have known this GolfNow!
This is a private club. They have a no shirt tail policy so be prepared (I was not). Nice practice facility. Nice club house with a freindly staff. I thought the shotgun start would be a problem. It was not. I will go back.
