First, I will always recommend this course. It’s a great layout and always in really good condition. I play this course mostly in December. The fee hike to play it 3 month earlier is excessive. And the day I played I checked in at bag drop for 1:50 on Raven and the staff gave me a cart with the Baytowne card on it, no ice in the cooler and only one of the two sand containers was half full.
Just not to the expectations of the price paid. BUT it’s still a great course and you must play it and I will again as well.

Overall this is a well laid out course. It’s a fair test and offers 5 sets of tees.
The greens are great fairways cut nicely.
I was able to use some rewards to get the price down.
At $115 including cart it’s a bit steep. I don’t think I would play it again at that price. There are other courses as nice in the area where you will pay sub $100 including cart.
Look for a deal and play this course. It is a nice layout.

I will start by saying I play this course a lot. because of the great value, layout and conditions for the money. However this day I played I had booked an 8:23am tee time. When we went to the staging area 10 mins ahead of our tee time we sat until almost 8:25am I asked jokingly "how are you guys behind this early in the morning" the answer was "the other starter let a member group go out at 8:12 following the 8:11 group" Basically pushing us back a tee time. Yet the 12 minute intervals actually pushed us back until 8:40 before we were able to tee off. So to the management. DO NOT let this happen. It is not something that should be accepted. Members know the rules of the club better than anyone and they are also the first to complain if rules NOT in their favour are broken. Other than this incident PLAY this course it is a great course North of Toronto.

The good is the course was in decent shape, and the layout pretty good overall.
There are rumours this course is partially being sold off to housing development which is rampant in the area and it was a course that reflected that.
It is promoted as a John Daly course and other than the cardboard cut out of John when you go in the pro-shop there was nothing available in the way of merchandise to indicate such.

It really felt like a course that was prepping for its end. The greens were great but there is no practice area and for $80 a round you should be able to warm up.

Its an okay course.

This course is very picturesque, and the conditions of the course itself decent. They have a goose problem and on a number of holes it was overly evident given the droppings on the green and the fairway. It is a narrow course and you need to be accurate. I do not like courses that take clubs out of your hand. Par 5's should not have 195 yards to the marsh but 301 to carry it. Why bring a driver. Pace was good and clubhouse is nice. They are building homes everywhere and that also creates an issue if you are accidentally off line. I am not sure I would play this course again. It just was not a course for me. But certainly if you love a great view, and there are some stunning holes you may enjoy this course.

Overall this course is a must play. It’s laid out nicely for all skill levels and value for the money is quite good. Our one complaint was the group ahead and lack of marshalling. They were slow all back 9 may have been the beer they had on the cart but following 17 while the group of 4 shotgunned two beers each we waited for tee off. I get this is a public course and I will return but I encourage the course to keep an eye on these activities and they were out of control and dangerously wild off the tee.

We have played this course a few times and this was our last round for 2019 for my Son and I. It was a lovely day they managed to get us out early which helped with other plans for the day and despite a number of rainy days this week, the course was in great shape.

The staff were great as always and we had some fun battling it out with father (me) winning in the end.

There are 3 courses at this location Raven is the best in my opinion but you cannot go wrong with any of the Sandestin Courses.

Club house is nicely sized and the cost for a king can beer $3 which my son happily paid since he lost the match. Worth the time with family and what a great fun course to play.

The course was in great shape, the greens quick but ran very true. A putt on line was rewarded, off line and they were a bit slippery. Pins were in challenging positions which made for a fun day.

The staff are great and pro shop had some great new modern products that I will be going back for.

Special shout out to the chef. My son bought their fish sandwich at the turn and it was amazing.

If you are in Destin, or near Destin this is a must play.

Sorry but this is a two part review. First the course itself.

The course was in good shape. The greens were in excellent shape and ran true and quick which I like.

The fairways were nice and layout is very fair but offers challenges depending on the tees you play. The amenities were clean and food was great. Sadly it was cool so mats to warm up which I hate but it was understandable. Overall I would say play this course.

Now part 2. I say however about playing this course because the end experience was terrible. My wife and daughter came to pick up our group. They were waiting when we finished, so we wanted to i Korda quickly and get to the car so we said no thank you to the club attendant. As we started to walk to the car came the sarcastic “thanks a lot guys, appreciate it” and NO it was not sincere. This guy was rude. Took a nice round and wrecked it because we did not use his services so no tip. I get it make be part of his comp. but guess what the group that played all deal with customers we all work in a business that has retail customers and we don’t get tipped. I was happy to tip the person who greeted us on arrival and took our clubs and loaded us up. So I’m fair when I use the course services. But this was rude and I don’t know I’ll go back because of it.

My reco is try the course. Maybe my review will shape this guy up. I hate the entitlement that was displayed and not only did we pay for 3 rounds we are all caring golfers who fix ball marks +1 and sand fill our divots.

Anyway the course is worth playing. But note not all staff care the way they should.

So the good here is the course is making massive improvements to the layout. The greens were in great shape but there were some holes that were going through renovations that we were not aware of.
I personally have played this course many times and typically it is a 5 start rating. The new layout once completed will be great however I was not aware of the changes and it mean some tee boxes were closed, par 5 turned into a par 3 (temporarily) and it was one of the better holes on the course and some other construction made for a nice day but not typical of the course. I will absolutely play here again but probably not until the construction is completed

We tried this course for the first time about 6 weeks ago and came back because the value for the quality of the course is exceptional. We paid $40 through GolfNow and that included the cart.
The course is a nice challenge and well manicured. They had recently punched the greens but the ball still rolled quite true.
Will be going back for sure.

Had never played this course and was told to give it a try. The course conditions were great. The layout was challenging and fair. More blind tee shots (can’t see people ahead) that I would have liked but the starter said “they are blind but straight” he was right. Staff was very friendly and the Value.......awesome. $55 including cart and worth much more. (Don’t change your prices)

Settlers is a must.

This course is a gem. I just wish it was accessible without having to stay on property or knowing someone that knows someone that can get you on.
It is a brilliantly laid out course that offers incredible views of the bay and stunning homes throughout the area.

If you are in the area this course is a must. The fairways and greens are always in great shape. The food and amenities are in line with some of the best courses in the US and the practice facilities are top notch. Go play this course you will not be disappointed.

Very fair test, course was playing well. Greens in good shape.
Practice range was great carts have data to pin. I’d play again or if you’re in Destin this course is a must play.

I always get a chance to play this course when I am down for Christmas Holidays.

It’s a great layout and good challenge.

Greens were slick today which I like faster is better.

Play this course. You will enjoy it.

First of all let me prefice this with the following.
This is a GREAT course to play. I have played it 6 times now this December and many times in the years past when I am down for Xmas. So go play it’s a great course.

However, a recommendation for this or any other course if you are going to let groups go out as a 5some. It’s the holidays I get it. But you had better have a marshall on the course or make it explicitly clear to the group of 5 to let groups play through that are faster particularly a 2 some of single digit handicap players.
We missed a hole and a half becasue they would not let us play through. And that doesn’t make for a full or fun round when you can hear the group ahead say “no we already let a group through” yah they let the single that was ahead of us through.

I know it was a probably an isolated (I hope) situation. But it should not happen. To good of course to not have made it clear to this group that if Raven were accommodating their 5some they need to make sure they let groups go through.

Play the course though it’s a great round

I have played this course many times, this year it is in the toughest condition I have seen it. However, it is still in great shape. The hurricane left it's mark but the greens ran true and only a couple had some damage.

It is definitely a course to play in this area.

The course was a touch damp from a lot of rain over a two day stretch but still the greens were true and competitive.

The layout is great and the tees I play make it very challenging on some of the holes.

The course was in decent shape and when in peak season will be a great course to play. Sand is Great, plays very long if you want it to.

Greens were not cut so played slow. But you can see that they are going to be great when cut and rolled.

Overall very good day on the course. Worth playing

The course itself was in good shape. The layout fair and forgiving. Was a great day on the course.
10.60 for a small bucket of balls is too much.
The starter was rude and impatient. Played as a single was told to check back after warming up. I did but apparently walking over was a mistake. The starter let me know he has a system and it's by cart number. I've never been told off over doing as I was asked.

Anyway got out had a great round and the local lizards that wander around the course were a cool distraction.
