Deerfield Golf & Tennis Club
Played On 09/25/2017Best public golf course in new castle county
First of all, Heather in the pro shop couldn't be nicer. She makes you feel like a superstar at the concierge desk of a Peninsula or Meridien Hotel. Greens and traps and tee boxes and fairways are in super shape for a public course.
Delcastle Golf Course
Played On 09/05/2017Unplayable
Delcastle has never been a "nice" course. Always a value play. Unfortunately, the course has devolved into an abomination. Many of the greens have large swaths of dirt where grass once grew, the worst of which on 5, 6, 7, 8 and 11. Putting is a nightmare. Tee boxes are ratty and weed ridden. Price should be <$15.

It rained it's butt off the night before but course drains well. Amy is always so welcoming and helpful. Great course and great service.
White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park

Its a very pretty setting. The facilities are new and pretty too. Very challenging course from the blacks. Lots of target shots and difficult long carries.
The clubhouse is setup to force you to drop your bag with the staff but invites delays in both getting to the starter and with leaving. Took 30 minutes for me to leave after a 5 hour round. Everyone means well but the system is flawed.
Course was in nice shape but not the great shape you would expect for the kind of money they charge. Certainly better than Rock Manor but it wasn't a premier experience like I had hoped for.
Our apologies for the experience you had JeffinDE. We pride ourselves on being a Premier course and our golfers having an experience that reflects that. Please contact me directly for a make-up promo code so you can come back and see how great our course really is!

Chisel Creek Golf Club
Played On 5/2/2013A solid deal around $20
Greens are aerated and slow and many could use some turf. Fairways on a few few holes (18 in particular, plus 7 and 12) are very low and thus very wet (in spite of no rain in 4 days)--fairway shots can be unplayable. Very difficult course until you've played it a few times. Blind drives on many holes. Interesting horseshoe greens on a few holes and of course the island at number 3. Very pretty country. Beyond what I mentioned above, the staff was friendly enough, and for what I paid I feel I got great value.
Oh, Jeff Scott. As we said in your posts on our FB page, it sounds like Delcastle isn't for you. As most can see, your comments do not mirror the actual conditions of Delcastle and we hope that you find a course that better suits your expectations. Happy golfing!
