Course conditions: fairways and rough are dry and hard. This means the ball runs out longer than expected and often into hazards or long rough and/or trees. I had been told about this from someone who had played here years before and had not been back as he felt it was too penalizing for hitting an otherwise good shot. I found it to be true. Greens were good. Course layout was good.

Let me say that the staff were all great. This includes marshalls, starter and pro shop staff. The course is a little tight and dry. So your ball will really run out and sometimes into unexpected areas. Greens were in great condition. If you are used to courses around Red Deer that are more green and plush, you may not like it here.

Front 9 is just back and forth with straight holes. Back 9 has some forced carries and blind shots. Greens were smooth and played well. I played the course twice on consecutive days and never saw a marshall.

If I’m in town again, I’d definitely play it again.

I used to love this course. I’ve played it about 5-6 times but the last time was probably 3 years ago. I always thought the conditions were great. The rough is really shaggy now—the length where it covers your ball and you drive by it looking for just a glimpse of it. The greens were slow. The marshall said they are narrowing up the fairways by letting the rough grow into it. Tee box grass was also long. I’d be hesitant about booking a time here again.

Unfortunately there was a college tournament before us and we were held back 20 minutes. We were the first group after them and it was a 5.5 hr round. Still cart path only.

I’ve played this course a few times in the past including times when a part of the course was dug up as they were fixing their drainage. Barren spots were not unusual and I thought I would never play here again. But I played today and liked it. The course was in pretty decent shape. Rough was extra long in some areas from overseeding. Greens slow and bumpy and there were a few greens on the back 9 which were very brown and stiff. Course is still cart path only.

Cart path only. Long rough which slows down the round as it can be tough finding the ball. Fairways are shaggy. Balls pick up a lot of dirt/mud. Greens slow.

This is a park style course not a desert one. Fairways were a little heavy so my ball picked up a lot of mad/dirt—so not a lot of roll. Rough was quite long in some areas and patchy looking. Greens were holding ok but a little bumpy and slow. This is all to be expected at this time of year. Loud music blasted by some groups.

Teed off before 10am. 5 hour round. Marshall (not sure if a marshall or just staff) came around a few times but I don’t think he addressed the slow play. Saw a few groups quit. For this time of year, the course was in decent conditions. Mud balls, bumpy slow greens and 4” rough in some places but that is to be expected after overseeding. I like the course design and can see the conditions would be prime during their high season. Next time I play here I will make sure to get a super early tee time so I don’t have to wait.

Apparently there are 2 pro shops. Just dumb luck that the guard let me through the gate. From there everything was signed. There was a drop off for my clubs, parking near the front entrance, walked in through the grill restaurant and the members’ pro shop was there.

Hot deal green fee of $76. Greens were super fast. Fairways were lush. Cart path only. Long drives between some of the holes—best to take a map which they have there. Definitely a treat to play.

I played with a couple elsewhere who recommended this course. I booked it for $19. I wish I hadn’t bothered. More like a rough muni although the greens aren’t bad. Bunkers are nasty with many labelled GUR as there is no sand just hardpan and rocks. Tee time at 11:07 not honored and pushed back to allow walk ons to play.

Hot deal for $23. Greens were slow compared to other courses I played on this trip. Fairways were in good condition. Rough was spongy with new and dying grass. Carts allowed on holes except #1. Good solid course.

Played on Oct 31 for $35. Carts at 90 degrees. Fairways and rough in great condition. Greens smooth and receptive with good speed. Loved it so much that I replayed 2 days later for a much higher price.

Had an early morning tee time. Conditions were fabulous. Greens fast. Staff courteous. I did get a lot of insect bites so I would recommend bug spray especially if you are the type they like. Definitely on my list to play again if I'm in the area.

Well conditioned course. Greens were a little slow but smooth. A little confusing as I think the starter/marshall drives around. The morning I played I was supposed to play blue/white but the blue course was already backing up so when the starter pulled up he asked me if I would like to play white/gold instead. No issue with that and I believe they don't guarantee which of the three nines you will play. I'd definitely play this course again.
