Course is good, staff needs a hug

Played here multiple times over the years. This trme out made sure it was one of our stops for my party of 6 i was entertaining on business. Course did not disappoint, great layout, great practice facilities, and great conditions.
Having played 3 other courses prior, we were spoiled with customer service.
Applause to Revere, Coyote Springs, and Paiute for making some first timers in my group to Vegas feel so welcome
This was the most expensive of all the 4, so one of my guests decided that since i paid for the other 3 he would take on the task. Unfortunately for one of my clients he felt ill from the night previous and could not join us so we were a party of 5.
The young man helping us was very understandjng of one of our mates not feeling up to par so we go on and swipe the card for $1700 for 5 golfers.
As soon as the machine reads approved, the ornery older man next to him who had not said anything prior speaks up and says well since you did not give us proper 48 hour warning, you will be responsible for that one tee time.
My client who just spent $1700 was now being asked to pay another $340 so i ran over embarrassed saying someones immune system does not have a calendar, which by the way our mate ended up having covid.
So i immediately had a little convo about it, and this older fellow was not compassionate about anything i had to say so i ended up paying the $340 so as to not make my client feel any more embarrassed.
I understand adhering to tee time policies, but you have to be flexible in each situation.
My clients at every course prior, had spent over $1000 in each pro shop so though your clubhouse sheriff gained his tee time payment, he lost way more than that.
We were so perturbed we did not spend one penny.
I left this round as the culmination to our visit, and am so disappointed it had to end this way.
Watch out for the older staff, throughout, you might get a grunt as you wish them a good morning or how are you.

Disarray

Had 3rd tee time of day, by number 15 there were 8 groups ahead of us, and this was already 4 and a half hours in to the round. They should just keep it a private course because they allow the members to run around wherever and for close to 80 dollars each, very disappointing experience.

Awe factor yes, until it slowly dissipates to again rise at 15

Always intrigued me to play a course aligning the Ocean. The first couple of holes and the last couple will have you quenching that thirst. The others in between, eh! If you would have dropped me off blindfolded on number 4, i could have mistaken it for being a local course in Virginia and not the one showcased on must plays in San Fran area. Maybe because it was a weekday, but i did not feel any wow factor from bag drop off to check in, to hitting on the range, but wait, there is no range, and this i discovered after i carried my own bags to the cart, and then after i felt hurried to pay my green fee and get moving, ummm okay. Course is okay, played it after some rain, so very very wet. My pants were gray but at the end, mixed in with lots of black. Pedestrians walking all over the place, and cart path only which made for a long round as this place is hilly which is not shown on pictures. Again, being an out of towner it was a must do, but possibly again, i dont know.

A great course carved out of "boulders"

Played the south course, as the north was closed. Got a last minute tee time, and to no surprise for a Tuesday morning was not busy aside from a few members going out, so i got there early, hit some balls, and off i went on my solo adventure. My only regret was not bringing someone along because from #1 to finish, the views are amazing. Not because of any elevation changes or anything out of the ordinary, but just pure desert scenery and backdrops. Course condition was outstanding, and as far as difficulty goes, i am a mid handicapper -12, and i actually shot well. Even some mishits found room for error though it may not look like it. My only score higher than a double was on 18 as it is a par 5 which looks easy but should not be taken for granted as there is trouble on both sides. Price tag a little steep, but what can you expect for playing golf in January in Arizona.
