East at Grandover Resort
Played On 05/07/2022great course and suitable for all handicaps, just a hiccup
first time playing at Grandover. Very nice and well maintained course with wide fairways. fairways and greens were in great shape. greens a little slow. They give you free logo towels, tees and ball repair tool.
I was paired with another gentleman for a 9:30 AM tee time and surprisingly course was not busy. we breezed through front nine in 90 minutes.
My playing partner was bombing his drives over 300 yards and hitting his 8 irons 185. so after the round I went to the range to see if i could replicate same only to be approached by two employees asking if I had paid to play and use the driving range.( the range balls are free for paid playing persons I was not the only one the range but obviously the only black person on the range. To their credit they left as soon as my playing partner explained to them we paid and have finished our round. It left a bitter taste on what should have been an enjoyable round of golf. Staff should recognize that people do not just come on the range and hit balls for free and should be more sensitive towards others especially minorities and first time guests like me paying $88.00 for a round
Rocky River Golf Club at Concord
Played On 01/01/2019great course,
I always enjoy playing at rocky river. Even though course was wet from all the rains of late, greens were in excellent shape .
pace of play was a little slower as there were holiday golfers playing hack golf.
It was an enjoyable round with wide fairways on front nine.
negtives - no beverage cart , wet areas and pace of play. Otherwise perfect
Fort Mill Golf Club
Played On 02/03/2018enjoyable round
played in 44 degree weather which made for less crowd for a Saturday afternoon. finished 18 holes as a two some in under 31/2 hrs
Course was in very good shape. Greens were in excellent condition but played slower than usual.
Great Idea to play when it's cold as you won't be waiting on every tee to hit your shot
Fort Mill Golf Club
Played On 11/25/2016Slow pace of play
Nice course with friendly staff and well kept greens. Appears they overbooked. Round took 5 hours as we had to wait on every hole. Hoping this was because it was Black Friday and a holiday weekend
Regent Park Golf Club
Played On 05/16/2014Decent course
Played on a Friday as a single ,because I got a hood deal on golfnow. There was a large group of foursomes and had to wait on most holes. A few of the groups let me through.
The course was in decent shape, inspite of all the rain the day before.
The greens were ALL in great shape and that more than made up for the slow play.
My highlight was a chip in birdie on the par 4 hole 14.
Mooresville Golf Club

Lancaster Golf Club

plaid and unexciting with the exception of holes where water come into play.
. six tees or greens are next to a major road.
greens in excellent condition.
good value for the money.
Rocky River Golf Club at Concord
Played On 08/30/2013great course overall with many challenging holes, especially the par 5 hole #3,with the fairway split in two by a massive rock!
played with a twosome.
A challenging course for all players, some easy holes and some challenging holes, especially the par 5's that are reachable in two for long hitters.
The greens were in a great shape for this time of the year and although were superfast they rolled true.
The fairways were in good shape.
Pace was was good until the 14th hole when a slow group upfront held up every one.
The staff were friendly and helpful and we saw the concession cart at least thrice during our round.
An enjoyable round and really could not find anything negative about this course.
Myrtle Beach National Golf Club - King's North Course
Played On 06/30/2013beautiful course with many challenging holes but fun to play as well
I played this course Sunday morning between thunderstorms. was able to finish in less than 3hrs since I played by myself and the rainy weather meant fewer players.
I was surprised that you had to pay almost a 10% tax.with the quoted golf now rate.
The greens were just punched and did not get any rate reduction for that., not cool.
I'm glad I played it once now,but do not think it merits the high price for repeat play at same rate.
The 6th hole gambler was as advertised, challenging. I took a mulligan but got on edge of green in two..
Overall not as challenging as I thought, any one with a handicap under 22 can play well here.
Red Bridge Golf and Country Club
Played On 05/10/2013great course with many challenging holes. Fun to play with many risk reward/reward holes.
This course is quite a haul from south Charlotte, but worth the drive.
The Greens are one of the most challenging, they are rolling so fast it's hard to place your shots and I had too many three putts despite hitting some good shots. Beautiful terrain, wide fairways and a lot of water hazards makes this course a must for any serious golfer.
The tee boxes are in good shape and fairways are in good shape.ALL the greens are in great shape and the staff are very helpful and frinedly.
My memorable hole is the finishing 18th par five 620 yards from the white tees(660 from black tees),the longest par 5 in NC! You will be tested trust me,I bogeyed this hole.
Edgewater Golf Club
Played On 05/03/2013my experience was better than the already great reviews online. if you live within an hour of this course, this is a must before its discovered by othe
I wish I could bring this course closer to charlotte. wow what a gem. its about 50 minutes drive from south charlotte,NC, but what the drive.
If you like mountain golf, rolling terrain, wildlife, great lake and beautiful scenery then you will love this course.
I played friday may 3rd 2013 and paid $30.00 and I got a free range ball token, plus coolers filled with free bottled water every 3rd-4th hole. You can't find this deal anywhere else.
The downhill first hole is a birdiable hole. The par 5 second hole is challenging as well. my favorite is the 17th short par 5,once in the fairway your worst score should be a par.
On the downside, the fairway grass is sparse in some areas and the side rough is cut too short so if you get a bad bounce you will lose your ball.
This is still a best kept secret.
I hope to make the drive there again as long as the good deals last.
