The Club at Los Rios
Played On 05/07/2017Slow Play. Bad Greens
If you are interested in playing a 5 hour round at a sub par course with some of the worst greens in the metroplex, then this course is for you. I got a great deal for $14 online which the receipt said it included cart, but I brought my son with me to ride along and was told it would cost $16.25 extra for him to ride with me because I only paid for half the cart. Even then, you would think I would just have to pay for the other half, but they just made rule up when I got there & were not accommodating. I ended up paying it, so it cost $30 total and was not worth it. They did not mention that they were modifying the 1st 2 greens and they were essentially the fairway grass as greens. The rest of the greens were bumpy, dry and covered in sand but not aerated. The course needed some work & they should not offer cheap specials and then change the rules when you arrive. I paid more for my son to ride in the cart with me then I did for the round. The pace of play was ridiculous and I saw a marshal riding around with 2 sets of clubs on his cart so I wasn't sure if he was playing, but he did not reset the order or say anything about how slow it was. We were initially stuck behind some amateurs who were riding 3 in a cart and hitting the ball all over the place. After 4 holes, they started passing all of the groups in front of use, but our twosome waited behind another twosome and and a foursome for 11 of the 18 holes. One of the worst golf experiences I have had in a long time, with the last one being at this same course last summer.
