Sunset Hills Golf Course - Old Course
Played On 10/14/2013Recommended course
This course has both easy and challenging holes, is well maintained, and is fairly priced. Recommended.
The Golf Club at Ballantyne
Played On 08/19/2013Course in very nice condition
Course in very nice condition. Recommended only if you can get a deal on GolfNow.com. Otherwise too pricy.
Harry L. Jones Sr. Golf Course
Played On 08/05/2013Grass was not cut
Unfortunately on the day we played, if you didn't land your ball in the fairway, you had no chance of finding the ball even in the secondary cut just off the fairways. The grass there had not been cut in some time. We were told this was a water pump problem.
I would wait until the pump is repaired and the grass is cut before playing here again. Otherwise it's an OK course.
Corbin Hills Golf Course
Played On 07/22/2013Fairways in pristine condition
This is a lovely course. Every fairway was plush and neatly mowed. The greens were equally maintained. Nothing to complain about here. Pro shop staff was friendly and accommodating.
Pinetuck Golf Course
Played On 07/10/2013Course in excellent condition
The greens are in really nice shape, best we've seen in a long time for this course. Fairways were maintained nicely as well. This is a fair and challenging course for both novice and advanced players. We give it a high recommendation.
Rocky River Golf Club at Concord
Played On 06/27/2013Unforgiving fairways
Course is in excellent condition. If you are not an expert golfer, you will not appreciate the unforgiving fairways with no bailout areas for stray shots. If you can hit it straight every time, then this course is for you. Friendly staff and excellent greens!
Edgewater Golf Club
Played On 06/21/2013Best greens in the Charlotte region
This course is in excellent shape, especially the greens. Long and challenging with tree lined fairways. Good value for the money. Recommended.
Red Bridge Golf and Country Club
Played On 05/26/2013Lots of water hazards
If you don't like water, don't play here. There are many opportunities for your ball to find a creek or pond or lake. If you can hit the ball far enough to get over these obstacles, then play away. Course is in good condition.
Apple Creek Executive Golf Course
Played On 05/16/2013Great practice course
This was a good course for practice. You get a lot of solitude with not too many people on the course. While the greens are not in good shape, it's a great facility to focus on short iron and chipping practice.
Deer Brook Golf Club
Played On 12/13/2012High end course for affordable price
We got great deal on Golf Now for $18.00 green fees. Course was worth twice that. We especially liked the cushiony grass around the greens which was ideal for chipping. Friendly staff. High class facilities. The only downside was poor signage for hole 10. It took us a lot of driving cart around to find it. Otherwise, great experience, we would go back.
Fairways in wonderful condition
We were very impressed with the fairways which were pristinely conditioned and cut with a primary, secondary and third cut. A very refreshing change and contrast to another course we recently played at Renaissance Park which is like a jungle in the middle of the fairways. Staff at Monroe Country Club was also very friendly. A huge downside to Monroe Country Club is the driving range. It was a full 5 minute ride from the club house to the range via riding cart. Once on the range, probably a good 5% of the balls were hacked by lawn mowers but still being put back into the ball machine. Also the machine didn't spit out all the balls we had paid for so we had to take the 5 minute ride all the way back to the club house. Aside from the driving range, this course is beautiful, pristine, nice fast greens, and friendly staff. Highly recommended, but don't come to hit nice balls on the range. The balls are old, dirty, and generally horrible.
