The Golf Club at Dove Mountain - Saguaro/Tortolita
Played On 11/13/2020Mesquite Golf & Country Club
Played On 01/28/2020Course was in rough shape. Greens in particular. Very slow, like putting on a shag carpet. Lots of burned/bare spots on the greens. There were at least 3 temp tee boxes and one temp green. No signage showing distances on temp holes. No signage warning of a temp green.
Desert Dunes Golf Course
Played On 03/08/2018Average course, decent prices
played as a single, starter did a good job pairing me up with a group of three. Fairways on course are average with some rough spots. Miss the fairway and you're probably either in the desert or on some very hard ground. Bunkers are the worst I've seen...absolutely NO sand...all hardpan. Someone said they think all the sand blows out....Beverage cart was somewhat available. I think we saw it twice during the round, after hole 2(to soon) and again on hole 17(to late).
Golf Club At Terra Lago - South Course
Played On 01/28/2018Good Time
Played as a single(on South course) and paired up with others. When I got there, I had a chance to go out earlier than my scheduled time. If I waited, I'd play alone which isn't much fun. Didn't have a chance to use practice area. The course hosts a junior camp for Korean girls and the practice facilities are probably the best I've seen in a long time. The only thing I could recommend for the course would be to add a "combo" set of tees. For me, playing from the yellow is a bit long, and the whites are just a little short. A combo of yellow/white would be about right. My only complaint was that I saw the beverage cart on the 2nd hole, and never saw them again until we were on the 18th green. If this is normal, they need more water on the course.
WildHorse Golf Club
Played On 03/10/2017Very Dissapointed
For what the green fees were, I expected much more. However this is a municipal course and perhaps funds aren't available. Every fairway was extremely dry or burned out. A few spots of grass/weeds. It looked like they had measles...lots of splotches. Most tee boxes had very little grass and many of them were not level. Never played on a course with undulating tee boxes. Greens appeared to have been aerated recently with some topping on it. Terrible for putting. A few pin positions were unforgiving, i.e. placed on a slope. Starter didn't inform our group of what pin position was being used. From where I'm from, green fees for a course in this condition would be at least half of what these were. WILL NOT be back.
El Conquistador Golf & Tennis - Conquistador Course
Played On 02/26/2017Fun course
Enjoyed my time at El Conquistador....I was a single that was booked with 2 others. When I arrived, they had sent that group with another 2. Was told I might have to play alone, which is no fun. Ended up with another couple who knew the course well....made it more enjoyable. Greens were in great shape, a little slow, but not bad at all....3 of the 4 par 3's measured more than 170yds which provided a bit of a challenge. Would certainly play again.
The Club at Starr Pass - Rattler/Coyote
Played On 02/21/2017Bring your "A" game
This course has plenty of forced carries over canyons, wasteland, etc...both off the tee and on just before the greens. Lots of elevation changes and a few blind shots. Greens were in rough shape...lots of ball marks that weren't repaired...
South/East at Spanish Wells Country Club
Played On 01/26/2016Overpriced
Played this course in 2015 and don't remember it being in this bad of shape. Played again in Jan '16 and was disappointed. Most greens don't have much grass and those that do, are bumpy and not in very good shape. I played the North and South courses. When paying upwards of $100, I'd expect a much better experience. Also, there was not a beverage cart on the course. I'd only play again if I could get a green fee in the neighborhood of $40....Doubt that would happen....
We really appreciate you coming to play and for taking the time to fill out a review afterwards. We would like to hear more from you about your round so we can improve in the future. Please send us an email at Spanishwellsgolf@gmail.com.
