The Vineyard at Escondido
Played On 04/14/2017Great Course, Slow Play
Course was in good shape and the weather was perfect. Unfortunately the pace was slow and there were many times our group was waiting 3 deep on groups to tee off ahead of us. To their credit, we had the marshall come through trying to figure out how to speed up play and check where the bottleneck was.
The course was fun and about moderate difficulty for this beginner. I'd recommend visiting Mon-Thurs for a better paced round.
Goat Hill Park
Played On 10/27/2016Great Value, Improved Conditions
I played this course maybe 15 years ago and it was abysmal, however recent renovations have made the greens and fairways much better. Challenging course with many hills, but it is relatively short and conducive to walking if that's your thing. Extremely good value, midday rate of $12 with cart on GolfNow.
Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan - Oak Glen
Played On 10/21/2016Poor course conditions, save your money
Course - I can't stress enough how poor the course conditions are at the moment. The fairways were mostly dry dead grass and there was no rough. The course basically goes from fairway (dead yellow straw) to mulch (twigs, leaves, and literally MULCH!) without any type of grass in between. This was the worst money I've ever spent golf related in my life! Seemed to be popular with walkers in the early morning.
Staff - The marshal was riding us throughout the round even though we never had another group teeing up behind us. Beverage cart attendant and pro shop staff were very helpful.
Indian Canyons Golf Resort - South Course
Played On 08/26/2016A hot one, but no crowds
Went out on a Friday around 11:30am with nobody else around. Course was in fantastic shape for August in the desert. Marshal was in great spirits and the pro shop staff were helpful. If you can stand the heat it makes for a great time!
