Hunter's Creek Golf Club
Played On 12/02/2017Coming along real nice
I've play hunters creek every week for the last 6 months.
Ive been told by the old timers here - that the course use to be one of the best courses in the area.
At first, my thought was - the course is in poor condition at best. The dry weather in the spring destroyed it. The hot summer made it worse.
Now they have a new management company and some new staff helping repair the course.
I am specifically writing this review to let everyone know - Ive never met the new greens keeper, but he is absolutely amazing!!!! The work that has been done to this course since the hurricane is incredible. They still have some things to correct (some of the tee boxes and sand traps), but other than that --- this course is back on the map !!!!!! If you have had bad experiences here in he past - forget about them and try this course again.... your wont be disappointed. At the rate they are repairing this course, i bet another month or two and they will be back to 5 stars.
Great job and a pat on the back to the new staff there.........
Royal St. Cloud Golf Links - Red/White Course

I don't know how this course could of been any better. conditions were great.
The only issue we had was being constantly pushed by the starter. Ive been playing golf for 40 years and have no need to search for golf balls, take practice swings or look over my putts, Our group played in 3 hours and 50 minutes, which I consider quite reasonable from the tips. I shot a 72 which could of been a 69 if I didn't have the ranger asking us to pick up the pace 4 separate times during the round, forcing me to rush my shot and walk off to the next hole.... The fact that the group a head of us was playing from the senior tees and taking gimmies from 12 feet so they could finish in under three hours is not my problem...
If the course wishes to force players to finish in 3 hours or less, they should state that up front so that customers know that they will be rushed if they are not extremely fast paced players. Anyone that expects to go out and play a relaxing round with their family, and take over 4 hours doing so - do not play here.... Go to a more family oriented location. This place will make you play in 3....

This was one of the nicest courses I have ever played. The course condition is a perfect 10. The layout is challenging, but the condition that they keep the rough is US open quality. Anything more than 3 feet off the fairway is literally gone from site. If you are not a target golf player, bring A LOT of golf balls. We played from the 7000 yd tees and got beaten up a lot for even the smallest errors in direction.
If you want a challenge - this is the course to test out your skills.

Course is in good shape now that the rains have helped bring it back to life. New management company that is working hard to get things running well. Tees are in need of a little work. Fairways are good. Rough is getting better. Greens are still very thin with many burnt areas and a lot of cup plugs around the perimeter that create a sand trap obstacle when chipping from just off the green. Could use a little more thought it placing the location of the flags to avoid having to chip and sometimes even putt through these areas.
All in all, the course is getting better....
Still no liquor license / no food. Really would help getting that back open.
As or the layout, It is one of the nicest ive ever seen. I hope the course continues to improve and get back to the level it could be.
