Totally enjoyed, I'll be back.

I found a hot deal at $11 for 18 holes. So I jumped on that. This place normally charges $79 for non-guests for 18 holes on the weekend in the summer. I personally have a hard time spending more than $40 on 18. I probably wouldn't pay $79 for this course but it's a resort/lodge so it is what it is. It's not the nicest course I've play but at the same time it's not mediocre in any way either. Great scenery. Course was well maintained. Staff was accommodating. Provided lots of challenges. Course management is key at this place. Did not use my driver a whole lot, some pretty narrow fairways. I opted to ride being as I had never played here before. Front nine is totally walkable. Back nine gets a bit gnarly so I recommend a cart at least for the back nine. The back nine is also the more challenging side of the course. I live in Clackamas so it's about a 45 minute drive for me, which I plan on making time and time again (during the summer). If you see a hot deal for this place, JUMP ON IT. It's worth the drive.

Tee time set for 0630. Get to the gate at about 0600. The gate is closed and locked...we sit in the car and wait, after a while at about 0625 someone opens the gate. We park and get our gear out. Walk into the club house and wait about another 10 minutes at the desk to pay while the gentleman opening up shop brews coffee. At this point there about 8 or 9 people behind our foursome in line to pay as well. I'm last to pay in my group, I called 2 days prior to ask about riding fee for 1 rider and I was quoted a lower price over the phone (no big deal) however I need to run out to my car to get a few more bucks. At this point my group is waiting for me at the tee. I get back in and the line is longer. Whatever...The guy behind the counter moves at a snails pace...everyone in line is "murmuring" about the guys pace. By the time I pay and grab my cart the group is just finishing up at the first green, so I missed the first hole. I know I could have opted to walk or get a pull cart and had got to play the actual 18 holes I paid for...no excuses, I just wanted to ride. However, if someone had been on time to work and opened up properly they might not had been swarmed by a bunch of golf hungry men all at once and this might never had happened. Now, I don't know if this is the "norm" at Mint Valley, this was my first time playing there. If so, maybe a warning when booking tee times (if your tee time is 0630, expect to tee off at 0650 or so). If not, I understand, we've all been late and had our bad mornings, I hold no grudges, it was just really irritating at the time.

I pass the group in my cart as they are walking off the first green and I go to the second tee, tee it up and hit it long and strait ( the only good driver shot of the day lol) due to being p'd off in the moment and not thinking about anything else other than the last 20 minutes of my life.

Loved the course, it was well taken care of, greens were great, not extremely difficult really whatsoever but still threw some fun challenges my way. And was worth the price. It's too bad it's so far away from my home or I'd pry play there twice a month. I will play this course again, maybe this summer.

Find yourself a hot deal

Played here two or three times now and I will continue to play here. Love the scenery. Fun course. It's really not all that challenging but it is well maintained, staff is friendly. I will probably only come here when I can get a *hot deal*. Its not worth $50-$70+ to play 18 in the summer. I'd rather make the same drive to Skamania Lodge or go to Langdon for $60 and play something more challenging. The hot deals I've received included a power cart for right around $21. It is totally walkable but might as well get the cart if the hot deal comes with it. If you see one, jump on it.
