As with all of the public courses in Southeast FL- this one also gets a lot of play. The conditions are better than most that I have seen. They also seem to stay on top of the pace of play at bit more at this course. Greens were in nice shape and seemed to roll quickly- especially once the sun got on them for an hour or so.

We finished our 18 holes in less than 4 hours but we started early in the morning.

I would definitely recommend giving this course a try- it is a great value but it is a short course.. bring your wedges.

This course is a terrific value. Like most public courses, it gets a tremendous amount of play. On this day, we did not wait except for on a couple of Par 3 holes which is fairly normal. The rest of the round went smoothly. This is the first time that I have played this course in about 4 hours- the way it was meant to be played. I enjoyed it very much!

The course gets a lot of heavy play and like many public tracks, less money goes to maintenance but overall, the fairways were in good shape especially since there has been little rainfall over the last few months in this area.

The greens were a little damaged in some areas- they are fighting against something sinister BUT overall, they rolled quickly and consistently. The putts that I missed had nothing to do with the conditions of the greens ;)

I know that this course won't be for everyone. If you want posh conditions- better off joining a private club but if you would like a great value on a classic layout right in town. This place is for you! Just chill out and go with the flow... it will take a bit longer but most of us are either on vacation or retired so RELAX!

If you are looking for a golf course designed to fit into its own environment perfectly- unspoiled by houses and condos and lots of machined challenges, then this is your kind of place.
Conditions are surprisingly good and actually better than most courses you will be able to play in the Low Country.
If you are a military veteran, your rates are reduced (deservedly).
Do not miss a chance to play here- schedule the tee time ahead and avoid Weekend crowds if possible.

This course has recently been purchased by a new local owner. He is doing all of the right things to improve playability and condition.

The clubhouse is under renovation- soon to be completed. Once open, it will provide a nice option for after golf dining and drinking.

The greens had recently been aerated but have come back nicely. Once they are cut, they should roll perfectly. They did hold the ball nicely when you hit into them. Just putt harder as they are shaggy.

The fairways were a bit scortched due to a prolonged period of hot and dry weather but the irrigation system is back up and running and should be able to correct the issues on a few of the fairways that were most affected.

The course was abuzz with maintenance workers attending to some of the deferred issues which was a good sign but none of them got in the way of our round.

We were able to play at a leisurely pace and enjoyed the wildlife and lowcountry water views on almost every hole. Still managed to complete the round in under 4 hours.

You should play here. Great place- terrific value.
